Got my first speeding ticket this weekend. Damn I should not be driving above 100mph. That was only downside to otherwise great long long weekend in Vegas (ohh yeah, won around 200$ in slots) How was your weekend?
my weekend was pretty good. went to a friends to have a july4th party and I flew out for a wedding too...pretty relaxing and fun. tickets are no good...I've had 2...I learned my lesson tho and I'm a lot more careful now.
Well I had a baby friday night. I quit smoking (still smoke free). I have swimmers ear and I cant put my head on a pillow without being in pain. So all in all im good but in pain.
So, the real question becomes ... with what you spent to go to and from Las Vegas, what you spent there, the cost of your speeding ticket added up and then offset by your $200 slots payout ... take a breath ... how'd you come out? Sorry about your luck with the ticket. My wife had never gotten a ticket in her life - not so much as a written warning after having her license over 15 years ... she's up to two so far this year
Nice congrats on your first ticket... Only joking i dont know what they're like im not even over 16! Lol .... anyone... I had a good weekend went to football then did some php work and posting on my blog!
Take it from an expert in speeding tickets ( tickets in general) dont speed! i have 6 speeding tickets, 3 were supposed to be wreckless driving because i was going 35mph over the speed limit ( i was actually doing alot more than 35) the price starts to add up and cops start looking around for ya. My last ticket i was going 32mph in a 25mph zone. Complete Bullshit, and i also got a 100$ seatbelt ticket then to. Man i hate cops
My first wreckless driving ( my first ever ticket) i was going 125mph in a 35mph zone, my second i was going 65mph in a 25 mph and my third one i was going 100 mph in a 55 mph. No more speeding for me though
My mom got clocked going 110mph a couple weeks ago. He showed her the radar gun but then he only wrote her up for going 89
Hahaha... For 6 months I was averaging 2 speeding tickets a MONTH. Rather than losing my license I did my research, went to court without a lawyer, and defended myself against every single one.. I won many of my cases too. They're never helpful when you actually need them, and always around to bother you when you don't.
Bad luck! I think I had same case (103 in 65 zone). There is not much you can do about it now. You have three options to say when Judge asks you - Guilty, Not Guilty and No Contest. Guilty and No Contest are similar - where you will be told to pay fine and go. If you have not received traffic ticket in last 12-18 months you may get chance to attend traffic school - then points won't appear on your record (so insurance wont' go up)
Hmm, sorry I don't have idea about it. Don't know how it works when case goes to trial. I opted for No Contest and paid BIG fine (and jump in insurance)
I think around 400$. My Insurance quoted me 600$ extra price - but then I switched and it was upto 200$ extra than what I was paying. So in total it is going to cost me around 800-1000$ (and darn....the court was 200 miles from my place - cop wrote on ticket that court appearance is mandatory...SOB) Everyone else was getting lot less for speeding, but later I realized its lot different when you are above 100. Speeding at 99 and Speeding at 100/101 makes HUGE difference in your fine They have some special category as Speeding in Excess of 100mph (which is different than just Speeding)
do u think i can say that i was going 98 or 99 on my speedometer and the calibration shit was off? wud that work? or dot hey go by theirs?
Of course. You have to plead not guilty, that shifts the burden of proof to the prosecution, and if the officer isn't there, they have no case. This may help: http://www.worldlawdirect.com/article/903/Fighting_a_speeding_ticket.html
Speeding ~ The reason why I do not have my license right now. Pointed out at 13 points on my license... Take it from me. It may seem fun at the time; but it gets expensive and annoying having to go to court paying for all the tickets and fee's.
