What is better for SEo etc etc. To use the Read More tag ? So visitors need to go into the article or show the full article on the home page.
full article is more seo i think. because they had more keyword on main page.. correct me if im wrong mate!
Obviously full article is more useful in compare to short article (article with 'read more' tag). DON.
I am for 'read more' for two reasons, first - with full article you will have the same content on several pages, and second - if the front 'teaser' is good it forces people to read more pages from your site.
ya i agree....if the article is interesting the reader will definitely read the article...it hold his/her attention..
"Read more" also encourages people to click on links in your blog. Once you break down the initial reluctance of clicking a link I can guarantee you that your visitors will click a lot more links. But for this to work you have to make your synopsis compelling. Use intriguing photos and compelling first liners and I can guarantee you they will click that read more link.
I would say in the majority of cases the full article is better, both for SEO and for readers to the blog. If the article is exceptionally long then it's probably useful to use the read more tag, but it isn't usually necessary.
I'd say a short one with "read full" tag, so you can have a full page just for the article including meta's
if you have a long article then split it into two or more posts with no more than 1000 words for each post, this give you more chance to rank with a second article
TechCrunch switched a few months ago from one long home page with full text to a "read more..." approach. The reason? More ad impressions and more clicks. It also improves trackability: it's great for you to really know what people want to read, vs. just knowing that they scan the home page for a while. So for me, as a business decision, "read more" is the right choice. As a reader, I sort of like having full text as well. As for SEO considerations, I think they are negligible compared to the first reason I mentioned.
I can't comment on the SEO benefits but personally I'd prefer the 'read more' tag. For RSS feeds that at least forces people to click the link (if the article is interesting enough).
I guess it works either way, but for me personally I usually don't even bother to read posts with the 'read more' tag unless I really like the blog. I prefer the whole post out there to see.
