it is clear what he means. The program did not submit the article, keep saying "you have to write maximum 450 words" ... even your article you've just written have 2 words in it, 10 word, or 400 words, or 1 billion words.

hmmm, I've head that having too many backlinks from "link-farms" and other low PR pages can actually hurt your rank... is this true?

No thats not true, having links can't hurt your rank or other people would build links for you to hurt you. Plus, these backlinks aren't from link-farms, they are relevant-to-your-content, quality blogs.

I think you need to learn abit more about SEO before giving people advice, having links from ridiculous places can infact raise a red flag for your site and on most occasions probably trigger an automatic penalty.

Go out and spam your link everywhere overnight and see if you will ever rank for that keyword in question. Do not just take my word, test it yourself and see

    Regards

If people were penalised for having links from inappropriate, then surely competitors would just build links to sites on these sites to get you penalised. That can't make sense. I can see that the links would be worthless, but I doubt you'd get penalised for them.

We are doing Beta testing in house

TBH the one there talking about here might be ok (after I looked into the system abit more) to use at the moment as its network is actually hidden. But TBH I would not like unrelated links in my article, if you sign up under an affiliate then you will get a heck of alot of links in your article. So whats there to say my article will not be in the same page as a porn site or warez site?

If this keeps occuring over a period of time Google will pick up on the co citation effect and probably devalue me for keep on linking near "Spam" sites.

Plus the network is Free, very bad thing to do with this type of thing, because you will get the blogs filled with spam over time and do you really want a link in a spam blog? Even if the fee is minimal there should be one in place to avoid spammers, we all know spammers hate paying to use a service. But at the moment it may work because its still untapped

I dont like disputing about these type of things (I just offer my opinion and experience of testing these things), plus every SEO has their own opinion. Google is very complex and the algo is not as simple as just saying yes they will give you an automatic penalty or not. But it will definatley raise a red flag and the more red flags raised the more risk of getting hit by a penalty. Whether small or large

Yes a competitor can do it to you, but do they?

I would much rather spend my time building my own site up and giving it more power, then neglecting my site and concentrating on getting a competitor penalised, only for another competitor to take their place and I end up dropping because I have been too worried about my competitors

This is the type of things you have to run tests on and I would run a test on any system you use before you use it on your main sites
