This is my first attempt at a google optimized site. I have plans to ad more pages but they are time consuming to make. Thanks for any ideas! Melissa www.fish4dollars.com please check a couple of the links since some of them are set up with ads differently!
Well this is going to hurt you a lot.. peope are not going to like a site which has only ads in 1st scroll.. anyways wait for other replies
Well this is my first attempt so even critisim will be helpful... I really don't know what I'm doing. I wasn't trying to get return customers with this site really anyway. I haven't reached that point yet. I kinda thought that having the ads right up fromt would be best placement for click throughs... can you guys give me better examples of sites that work? Thanks Melissa
I have the exact number of ads I am allowed... 3 regular, one link and 1-2 google searches... which page has more I might have made a mistake! MElissa
site looks messy but i guess if it is your first site its ok... i always wonder when people make "high paying" google adsense sites such as debt, mesothelioma, credit cards, etc. Do you know much about them? Or are you just in it for the high cpm? I know that if you want to suceed with google, you MUST make a site on something that you enjoy. I HIGHLY reccomend paying someone to build a site for you that interest you. Try to hire someone through digitialpoint, sitepoint.com, scriptlance.com, or getafreelancer.com Good luck
He means that your site needs more content. It is a thin line of breaking the TOS in this case, i would just take the safe side and either add more content, take some ads off, and/or email google and ask them to review your site and ask them if it breaks the TOS.
I honestly just love making websites... but I am very new to it. As far as adding content do you mean to each individual page or more pages without ads? How much content to put on a page is hard for me to figure... I kinda though most of it would just be scanned... not something people would be really reading the whole way through... I know my main page kinda sucks but I usually link my ads to the exact pages of the site... which I have put a little more time into. I chose these keywords for the pay not because I like credit/loans etc isn't that what most people do with adsense? pick the keywords that have higher payouts? Melissa
You need more content on ALL pages. Each page could have ads at the top or on the side, but I would limit ads. As your landing page looks now you won't get far. There is nothing to keep anyone from bouncing right back off your page, if they can find you in the first place. Without content to drive the search engines to your site you won't gainn much traffic. And no, successful people do not create web sites based solely on "high paying" keywords. You need to build a nice looking, easy to navigate web site with a few ads on a subject you find interesting. The site as it stands now will not gain you much. You have nothing relevant above the fold, people aren't going to hunt for your content. Since you don't have much content that's not a huge deal. They will, however, click "back" or go directly to another URL without clicking through your ads. Don't bombard visitors with ads, give them something they'll want to see. It works best in the long run.
honestly I use pay per click right now to get traffic as I don't really understand seo at all. My pages are doing alright but I am trying to improve them. BTW I see that I can buy websites that are already adsense optimized and have rss feed so the content is changing all the time... is this how people get so many pages and websites up and running with adsense? Melissa
a lot of people use php and content management like joomla or mambo. they work well and once you got them installed they are a piece of cake. i still reccomend (if possible) throwin in a few hundred to get a freelancer or webdesigner to make a site for you. nothing fancy, just simple and attractive.
I think you need to do something about the 3 ads clumping on the top left of the website. I don't see any content without scrolling down. The back of the guy's head that says "proud past unlimited future" really looks like another ad for me rather than a graphic header. (which you intended to use a header right?) It didn't really blend in your content thus looking a bit alienated. Hope this helps.
