Starting a site with/without ads. Which is the better choice and why?

If you can manage to start a site with ads, why don't you do that?
Some ads network don't accept their ads to be put in a fresh website they want traffic first, so if you can put an ads from the start it would be good, that's my opinion

It depends on the type of website.

For e.g. there is no point in displaying ads on my site RuchieDomains.com or RuchieDomain.in. But it would be worth displaying ads on my other site IndianShareMarket.biz

The most common sites where you would put ads are blog, forum, classified sites, informative site and so on... But showing ads on professional sites like domain registrations, web hosting etc would make no sense. You will simply redirect the visitor to some other website which means, one sale lost.

I hope now you understand the difference.

If you intend to build out and attract customers or make conversion rate, its best not to have ads. Once you have real traffic, then you decide if ads are worth. Ads do annoy members and visitors, they eat up bandwidth and slow down connection and other negative things.

Like redirecting traffic away from your site.

The only requirement they have is that your website should have some contents on it. It should not be like a blank page with no contents.

Nope that's dumb go for it. If it's a membership site I'd start it with a cost and then have a low fee but ads you should get some reward for your efforts even if it's .2 cents to start!

Yeh but what if a short term loss of $0.40 cents will help you gain $5/day in the future. Not so stupid then...

If it has a lot of free content, then go ahead. Members won't make as much of a fuss than if you add it in later.

If you own a business site where users must pay for whatever, don't put ads.

I would say go for the without ads type of site coz people will feel that your site is not for monetary purpose and thus increase your traffic.
And if you wish to still earn some buck, you can put a donation button at your site.

I started my site without ads as i always hated ads as they ruin the site image, but then when you get stable traffic, you can always put them on to make some extra money.

For the first time, its better to start without ads for 1-2 Months.. after that you can add your ads.

Depends what you need to do with the website, normally people those selling products or service won't place ads because it does not look professional.

Why not? You probably won't make much, but the little you do make will keep you encouraged. Plus you can start doing preliminary ad optimizing.

I've read before that after starting a site you should wait at least 2 weeks before adding AdSense to it.

I always start without putting ads. Why would you want to worry about making a few pennies from a new site?
