Would love to hear thoughts on ways to let job-seekers know about a new website that I hope to launch in a month or two. I am interested in thoughts on online and offline methods. Thanks.

Welllllll.... it's considered 'blackhat', but try replying to ads in the resumes section on Craigslist and backpage. You'll need at least 10 different gmail accounts because at around 50 emails, CL will tell you that they've gotten too many emails from that account and won't send out anymore for another 24 hours. This technique is more used with CPA offers and 'offering a job' than telling people about a website though, so I think you should get a little creative, otherwise, you'll definitely be spamming.

Does anyone else have any thoughts on getting leads/traffic from job-seekers?

Have you thought about newspaper advertising? Also, maybe advertising on monster.com (probably really expensive though). Craigslist is another option.

OMG! I'm never using Craigslist again!

    Yep, adwords! :)

Also, search google for forum threads about people getting laid off... register at those forums and chat!

Thanks. I have considered newspaper ads and, in fact, tried a classified ad recently for another offer to job seekers and it failed miserably. I guess that there is a reason that newspapers are shrinking in size and ultimately going away. AdWords is also a good option, of course.

Is anyone aware of other job-related sites besidies monster.com that might be suitable for advertising? Any blogs that focus on helping job-seekers? We have been searching but have not found much. Thanks again for all input.

Yes, linking to job-seeking type sites would be good. Of course, the monster.com's of the world will not be interested. Can anyone recommend any sites that would be potential linking partners?
