Keyword help for my site

    Guys,

I have finished my site structure www.ebooksparadize.com and now working on onpage optimization. I have 20 pages of my website and I set title of each page after reviewing contents. So with 20 pages title keywords I got almost 100 different keywords for my site. :)

Now I want to set meta description and meta tags. I read somewhere that meta description should be less than 160 characters, is this right?

What about meta keywords? I read I can use comma in this tag. So how many keywords I can use in this? Can I use 100+ keywords? I was thinking to use same 100+ keywords that I prepared after compiling title of 20 pages. Is that ok or this will be against SEO techniques?

It will take much time in preparing meta keywords and descriptions of each page? Please help me?

If you only have 20 pages, you should definitely take the time to ensure that every page has unique meta tags. Even if a website has hundreds or thousands of pages, it is preferable to use unique tags. I definitely wouldn't repeat the same keyword tag on each page. That is just laziness. To be honest, the meta keywords tag isn't very important anymore. Google does not use this tag in their algorithm. Just put 5 - 10 unique keywords that apply to that specific page. Do not put hundreds of keywords. That is spam.

160 chars is a good amount for the meta description. You can go over that limit, but some search engines may only use the first 160 chars or so.

I had a look at your website and I am not too impressed by your page titles. Instead of using proper grammar you have just listed inidividual keywords. Even if you get good rankings for those pages, who will want to click on a title that doesn't make sense? You are likely targeting very competitive phrases that you won't get rankings for anyway.

Thank you for taking time and reviewing my site. Can you please just recommend title for three pages

    http://www.ebooksparadize.com (home)
    http://www.ebooksparadize.com/makemoney.htm (Summary of all ebooks)
    http://www.ebooksparadize.com/googleadsense.htm (Adsense products)

In addition I just noticed my AdSense page title again that is "Google AdSense Work at home business opportunities", I think this is good and meaningful title.

Your recommendation of these 3 page title will help me to have an idea how other pages titles should be.

    Regards

In your titles be willing to use a - or | to separate phrases. So you could change that to: Google AdSense - Work at home business opportunities

Just make your titles readable sentences or phrases, otherwise it looks spammy. Look at what of some of your competitors use. Think of what you would want to click on and consider what keywords get the most searches.

If I use your suggestion then for same words I will have two keywords only. "Google AdSense" and "Work at home business opportunities". However if I don't use separator then I will have following possible keywords with same words/characters:

    1. Google AdSense
    2. Work at home
    3. Home Business
    4. Home Business Opportunity
    5. Business Opportunity

So using separator lowers number of possible keywords in same sentence. What do you think?

Using separators does not lower the number of keywords you are targeting. The search engines still see all of those individual words in your title. So if you searched for 'Google work at home', Google would highlight all 4 of those words in your title. I'm not sure why you would think that separators would take away some of your keywords. Google basically ignores separators.

Anyways I don't care if you choose to use nonsense sentences for your titles. That is your choice. In time you will realize that your titles look spammy and limit your click through rates. I'm just telling you what I would do based on my experience. If you want a spammy website, so be it.

We are discussing on one topic so you should understand that I don't know about it and by cross-questions I am learning more. There might be different opinions of different people on same topic. For example regarding Meta Tag "Keywords" some people says that is not important any more and some say it is important. So while discussing you should not use words like "nonsense".

Anyhow thank you for your reply. Once 2-3 more people confirm the same about using separator in Page title then it means that is proved logic. Until that there is question then what is advantage of using separator between keywords just for "good looking" of page title or any other hidden advantage also?
