How am I to confirm if a domain is mine?

I just bought a domain yesterday and transferred it to my Godaddy account. I signed up with a web host who provided me with a cpanel. I installed wordpress in it a few hours ago. But when i type the address of my domain still I am able to see only the previous website. Why is not a wordpress blog now? Does this mean it is not my blog? or Will it take time? Can anyone help me out with this!

 

have you changed the name servers at godaddy?

 

Have you updated Nameserver? It can sometimes take 2-3days for namesever to propagate fully.

 

Nameservers are usually updated within 48 hours !

 

No how am i to do it?

 

Update it from Godaddy domain control center. You can easily figure that out by doing some navigation.

GoDaddy account -> Domain manager -> click on the domain name -> Nameservers .. and change them to ones you got from your hosting provider !

Now how much time will it take for the changes in settings to take place?

 

Usually 48 hours

 

usually much less with Godaddy,but up to 48 hrs

I changed nameservers on more then 50 domains and only one took 48 hrs.
Most of them are done in 6-24 hrs period
