Today, the srilankan team was headed to Laore Gadaffi Stadium when they were attacked. 5 Policemen dead, 4 injured. In the process 6 Srilankan players hit. Names are out but not yet confirmed. Also, one of them hit in chest and the other in the leg. These were the same Terrorist Group who attacked India, a month or so ago... So it comes to the conclusion that a group is after the PEACE of the subcontinent. Mahesh Butt an Indian producer has said in his comments that countires who blame eachother of such incidents should take this thing out of their mind that countires are trying to attack each other. He also said he hopes for the best and condems the incident and the loss of 5 pakistan police killed saving the srilankan team. Srilankan team is trasnferred to a high security chamber where they will be escourted out of the country.
The situation in Pakistan is getting really worse. ... Six Sri Lankan cricketers are injured with Jaywardene getting a bullet on leg and Sangakarra getting hit on shoulder. Also in the injured list is Vaas, Thiranga and Mendis... I sincerely hope the administration there is able to reign in these terrorists and save the common man of such miseries. Regards, RightMan
Thanks for the update. I wish countires like pakistan ,india, afghanistan fight togehter against terrorism
Hats off to the policemen, who sacrificed their own lives but protected the cricketers. I hope that the injured cricketers will recover very soon and continue playing in form.
Luckily the visitors escaped. No major injury it seems from what the news are pouring in. But it is a dark day in the history of sports. MEAN ACT by all means. This is hampering the future of sports in Pakistan in general, leave aside cricket itself. What can a common man can expect in Pakistan after all this?
I also think that Pakistan cricket board should not allow any team to play inside, if they can't provide security for them but cricket could not be banned for paki players
When other countries refused to tour pakistan, everyone in pakistan were very angry. They were like "What do you mean its not safe in here!!" Now you know why other countries refused to tour pakistan!
^ You shouldn't to be happy because of that. If its something here they pay 100$ for a match ticket to watch there stars playing in soccer or cricket anything.
yeah, we know who you're going to blame. But what you're going to say is dumb, non-credible and without any solid proof. Just having a minister saying something doesn't mean its true. You should accept the fact that the homegrown Taliban, Lashkar-e-Tayyeba and their relatives are going out of Pakistan's control. Its a monster that pakistan created, and now it will have to fight it.
C'mon ppls! I am living in Karachi Pakistan. I also hate these terrorists as much as you hate them. Almost 9 out of ten peoples hate them. Blaming the whole nation for their actions is not the correct thing. Just think over it. When our governments talk to each other in friendly tone. We all warmly welcomes each other but when they start talking harsh we also start shouting at each others. Why?? Are our minds controlled by our governments? Aren't we allow to think by our selves? Aren't we allowed to see the reality and instead forced to see what our government wants us to see? Just think over it!
Thats a very good point you made. Its true it happens this way...but I guess relations are bound to be strained between the two nations untill the scourge off terror is wiped off the sub-continent.
if you compare Pakistan & India its similar if you start from Punjab of Pakistan and Punjab of India there is no difference they look same. I think they should concentrate for towards good relationship rather being enemies. We heard a lot in 2007 in Monday morning newspapers about good relationship of India and Pakistan.
Let us all spread a message of peace and love. Nothing will be going to change if we continue to spread hatred against each other. Instead it will lead us all to extremism. We all know that it can not be possible unless we work for peace together.
