I found that almost every pages of Dmoz whether the pages have any extra contents or just have their categories list are more than PR5+. Do you think that Google is giving such PR to every pages of Dmoz cause Dmoz is following Goggle's webmaster guidelines (good contents, backlinks, update etc.) or just Google is giving credit to Dmoz cause they want?

Domain Age certainly helps. As does the domain ages of the links pointing to many of the higher PR categories. But google is NOT giving them any perks, there are many categories that have PR0 and even PR N/A. As for following the guidelines of Google...they promote the cloning of themselves, so hows that for the duplicate content issues ;)

I think most important factor on PR is the age of the domain , I saw domains with pr 4 completely closed ( on the index of the domain is only a log in form ( its a private workplace used by few folks ) .... one of my domains like 2 years old , with crap content - some flash games and like half page with content got pr1 :) ... So ... I think the most important factor on pr is the age of the domain :) ... about ODP pr not have any connection with their '' guidelines '' since this guidelines and rules its seems to not be followed always ...

With the corruption and dictatorial way how ODP promote their listing service , and the way how you guy's choose to '' share the love '' it's hard to believe someone really care about this damn it crap spam link directory . This is only bullshits about keeping an official advertising campaign ! Just with the reason to keep public interest about the directory alive , to increase the revenue generated for peoples with you colaborate ( for example mods from this forum ) ...

DMOZ EDITORS AND OTHERS CONTROL THE MODS FROM THIS FORUM OR THEY ARE PART OF MODS OF THERE AND THEY ARE TRYING TO COVER THE DIRTY WHICH CAN COME OUT FROM THEIR PRACTICES !!!!

People ask how to get listed in DMOZ, editors and non-editors alike point to the ADD page. *LINKS*

People not getting a listing come to forums like this and ask about why their site is not listed in category _X_ *LINKS*

People bicker over the guidelines all the time and in most cases *LINKS*

Older sites from like Geocities that got listed (back when reciprical linking was "in") often pointed back to the directory *LINKS* (and good OLD links at that)

Newer sites that get listed sometimes like to brag about their listing (as it's harder then ever to get a link) *LINKS*

Bloggers claiming to be SEO experts still claim that a DMOZ link is the king of links *LINKS*

Sadly, Google can not tell the difference between a GOOD and BAD link unless it has the nofollow tag...so in the end, most of the newer links to the ODP are complaints...but complaints still do WONDERS for the PR of the directory.

I'm unsure if the people here are aware that Digital Point offers a NOFOLLOW tag when linking. Go on, try it www.dmoz.org]

The world will thank you ;)

I'm an editor and a moderator and I've never had anyone tie the two together and ask for anything. The allegation is laughable.

But isn't part of natural human nature that your moderation in this forum be effected by your opinion and feelings toward the directory that you are active in as editor?

** This is a question, I am not implying anything, so this post should not be used as a excuse for giving me infraction and banning me.

Actually, I stay well clear of here for exactly that reason... but the suggestion was that dmoz influences the mods here.

I may be influenced by my own personal opinion but nobody at dmoz has ever approached me and suggested I moderate differently.

Nor has anybody from the digitalpoint mod or admin teams ever approached me and asked me to edit differently.

Oh, really, but it's soooo much fun....

I have domains older than dmoz.org that are still PR0. Not sure the "domain age" cliche is as straightforward as people think. Domain age has to be strongly coupled with other variables.

Of course it's not as straight forward as people think. It's coupled with all those links I talked about :p
