If you cannot open the Flash (.fla file) in Adobe Flash. It's possible that you are trying to open in a previous version when the file was created in a new one. Download a trial version form Adobe.

Template Monster templates are not the best out there in terms of coding and easily identifiable labeled layers. An easy way to edit the template is to use the 'Find and replace' command from the menu. For example if you need to edit the 'Company name' or navigation button text, enter 'Company name' in the 'find' field and enter the new name in the 'replace with' field. Remember this feature is case sensitive.

Music and image files can be replaced in the 'Library' panel. Open the 'library panel' (control+L). Here you will find all the images and sound loops for the template. Double-click on any to open up a dialog box and select import. Import your new image. Save the file and export he movie as a .swf file to overwrite the existing swf file with the same name.

    Hope this helps.

To modify template monster templates you must use Flash MX I think, and you need to know actionscript very well. I now only use their templates for projects where client want lots of animations --- otherwise it is too time consuming. You can consider some flash template editors software, however they usually only support their own template format file, not those monster templates directly.
