What's with the majority of girls...

Why do they get so worked up over TV shows and get so dramatic as if the shows actually affect their lives in any way.

The bachelor season finally was on today and I see a spam of facebook status updates about how angry they are at the main character and that they are so rattled by it...

It's a TV show... get over it.

    Why are females like this?

I'd understand if they'd get hyped at shows such as dexter, lost, prison break and so on because those shows can be really exciting. But as soon as it's about stupid reality shows such as the bachelor or "the real life", then I just have to say: Grow a brain! Seriously, it's ridiculous!

Lost is amazing! I still don't scream out loud in a high pitched squeal when something exciting happens, but I do get excited in my head.

So it's stupid to get emotional over reality, but not stupid to get emotional over fictional tv shows :D Right

There's a difference between being emotional, and being overly emotional and dramatic.

Besides, reality TV shows I say are no more real than fictional TV shows.

And in one such incident, a girl got paralyzed when the anchors passed some comments on her performance. Poor girl, she in now in the hospital and the sponsors are not taking the responsibility.

I really think that such shows should be banned. Their main source of income is from the vote casting. The votes that public casts through SMS or Phone are charged premium rates. And the friends and relatives send SMS or SMS to win their participant. Don't know when the public will realise that all this is just a money making scam.

I think most girls grow out of such behavior. I did a long time ago. I used to be a soap opera addict, but now TV hardly holds my attention.

On the flip side, I've seen my husband act worse than I ever thought about being over a Packers game. :)

Well sports are totally real. Unless you consider wrestling a sport...

I am worse about it than most girls I know. I can hardly last the whole week between episodes of Chuck.

It's true that guys act that way about sports, but with sports there is a sense of national pride or regional pride. If the sports team from your area, or your favorite sports team is doing well, you feel good about yourself as there is something that connects you with that team.

Drama television shows however - they are just actors, it's not real - so why get excited?

I admit some guys go overboard with sports too - maybe I'm just tough to excite unless I'm actually involved physically.

It does not necessarily happens with girls, but it happens with boys too and if you have seen the shows, you must have also seen their parents crying.

I hate to say that but every parent wants to see their kid at the top but they fail to understand the child's physiology.

My kid is good at drawing right from her childhood but I still never insist her to take part in competitions. I have given her the freedom to do what she wants to. Unlike other parents, I would never force my child to choose a career which she is not interested in.

Art should be appreciated, not publicised. I hope all the parents try to understand this especially that these shows are just not too good for the sake of gaining popularity and few bucks. And then whats the point in performing on the stage and then begging for votes so that they can win.

I don't think Kishore Kumar, Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhonsle and other popular singers ever did that in life.

emotions. The brain just does something silly when there is something emotional going on, we can relate it to ourselves and so it's touching

You gotta find smart girls buddy. Try a university or a girl who's done 90% of the 100% of different drugs out there, I bet they don't watch much t.v.
