Im aware that wordpress blog posts get indexed very quickly, but with regards to ranking have you ever seen significant differences to suggest that an html page will rank better than a page from a wordpress blog for example? Or have you seen an html page rank quicker than one from a blog?
In my experience there is no difference when both are properly optimized. However, if you have an unoptimized blog with messy URLs and/or other problems, then you can have a problem getting crawled and indexed. But as far as rankings go, I think it doesn't matter.
Thanks for your reply Mike, yeah regarding a blog not being optimised i can see how it could cause problems.
A wordpress blog renders as HTML. So what are you actually asking? If Wordpress HTML is 'good' HTML? Depends to a large degree on the template you use.
Well i recently put together a small site, purely html (no cms used) and its ranking on the first page already in a competitive niche for decent keywords and i wonder had i setup this on wordpress for example, would i still be seeing the fast ranking for those keywords? Putting aside the obvious efforts that would need to be duplicated within the wordpress example.
