    Hello,

how important is it to have a domain name that is your main keyword:

example i create a site related to dvd writer.

I is better to have the domain: dvdwriter.com

    then 12cxs.com

    ?

That said, if the content is rubbish and the content of 12cxs.com is good then 12cxs.com will rank higher.

Google does seem to add weight to sites with relevant domain name for keyword.

Like anything else it can be overcome but it's another tool if you can use it.

    dvdwriter.com

    ore

    dvdwriter-1.com

is there any differrence if a person google for dvdwriter?

I think it's the same , but the closer keyword will be the first priority for SE to index your site. that case "dvdwriter 1" is the keyword

domain name is more important in the first stages of your site... a good domain name will help you to rank higher for that keywords but then is a lot more important the links to your site and your site content

It's commonly thought a good idea to break domain names (and directory names and file names) into individual words using hyphens (not underscores), "to make assurance doubly sure" that the searchbots can parse them properly.

Thus, better dvd-writer than dvdwriter, for example. While keyword stuffing is a poor idea, giving directories and files useful relevant names is always wise.

If--for example--you have a site about red cats, and a bookstore selling books about them, the URL might be:

If you can get dvdwriter(dot)com or dvd-writer(dot)com domain, that's the perfect domain for that keyphrase.

Let's say that if You have 3 domains: dvdwriter.com, dvdwriter-1.com and dvdwriter1.com, more importance by search engines will be given to dvdwriter.com then dvdwriter1.com and dvdwriter-1.com.
