Of course it can work. People have been doing this since Adsense and Adwords came on the scene. They don't just use Adwords, they also use Adbrite, Yahoo, and all the other PPC programs out there. It's called "Adsense Arbitrage", and at its simplest form, it's buying targeted traffic for a low price per click and converting them with higher paying ads. The trick is to bring in more than you're paying out. How do you think all those mesothomelia sites make money a few years back?
i just started this ads-venture 2 months ago ... will consider adwords, but will wait for my first check though any other advice?
Clicksor and Adbrite are pretty cheap, but Adwords is better for targeted traffic IMO. I never place my ads on content sites, just the search network, in order to avoid all those dreaded MFA sites built specifically to take my money by tricking their surfers.
Google has two places where it can show your ads, its Content Network (your site and mine and all those MFA sites) or Search Network. Google chooses both by default. Once you've created your ad copy, you need to go into "Edit" and uncheck the Content Network, to guarantee that your ads will only show in Google's SERPs. This bypasses all those MFA sites completely, and guarantees much more targeted visitors, as the visitor has already actively plugged your keywords into Google in order to trigger your ads in the first place.
In my experience AdBrite traffic is nowhere near as relevant as AdWords, it may be cheaper but it's not much use if the users don't click on your ad's. Does anyone know if there's any way of displaying stats on how many AdWords referred users clicked on AdSense ad's?
I use overture well now yahoo search marketing, how ever am toying with the idea of adding adsense to one of my sites which is purely driven traffic through PPc, any idea whether its a good idea anyone tried when targetting a specific market e.g insurance with online forms? feed back appreciated. thanks ben
I'd suggest at least trying AdSense on your site for a bit as it's an excellent method of gaining some extra income.
Yeah, I agree with kevingibbons, since I believe Insurance related keywords are high in paying price from google adsense.
You have to do more work with Adbrite... buy a 1 week link instead of CPC, choose the sites you buy ads from carefully, track your visitors, change your ad text... With some effort, you're able to buy cheap somehow relevant traffic
The idea is to get back more than you put in, of course. Asking about exact numbers is pointless, because like asking about CTR or "average earnings", it all depends on what you plan to convert with -- i.e. site topic, niche, etc. If your site has high-paying keywords, you are willing to spend more for the traffic, if not, then not. Etc etc.
exact number can help me set my budget I have zero experience on adwords ... so need some advice on this topic ...
