I found a site the other day called www.webvaluer.org, I put my site in the box and hit the value button and low and behold, my site is valued at $1,200. My site is called www.searchrankingtool.net if you want to try it to see what I am talking about. My question is, is this a known resource to determine site value? How would you determine the value of a site otherwise? Traffic? Monetization? Proof of each? Obivously the value of any object to be sold is wha the market will pay for it, but how do you establish a baseline? Thanks in advanced Eric
Don't believe these websites... No website will let you see your site's true value. Your website's monthly revenue x 12 + Your money spent for the website (content, promote, design, anything else)
well. websiteoutlook.com is actually quite useful for this aspect. There are some websites where people buy /sell websites and it has a good valuation system.
Those sites are for amusement. If you really want to know what a site is worth, find someone who would want to buy it, and ask them about how much they would pay. Just like everything else in the world, sites are only worth what others are willing to pay.
ya your site's real value is the traffic coming to it(avg) in a day. you can see all the related information about your site at alexa and then decide upon its value.... but to get approx values sites like the one used are gud...
Most people here pay 12x monthly revenue. When you buy the site, you also need to take into account some other factors. 1.) Niche and potential for further expansion in the niche. 2.) Traffic Sources 3.) Amount of Effort required to keep the income coming. There are loads of other factors, but these are just some basics you could keep in mind.
This websites and their estimates are total ruse. Normally a website goes for 12x it's monthly revenue x potential multiplier. Normally potential multipler is 1.0 but it can be more or less than that. It's a purely subjective estimate.
ufffffffff this one made me crazy, it showed me the cost of my one site 6076$ and for one 6754$ Just count your daily traffic + daily earning then you will for sure estimate about the value of your site
The amount you spend in building / developing your site is not money that you can always recover in the sale price. In fact, the earnings rely on that prior work - take it away and you have no earnings. When you sell a house you don't get paid extra for the foundations it's on. You can see how various valuation tools compare here. No valuation tool can tell you how much you'll get for your site as a site is worth only what someone will pay for it - there is no fixed formula. Sometimes what looks like a quality site will sell for a very low multiple and a poor looking site will sell for a higher multiple. There is only one way to know how much your site is worth: Put it up for competitive bidding and see how far the bidding goes. There is only one other way to get a close approximation without putting it up for sale - use a tool that calculates value of your site based on what similar sites have sold for: ebizvaluations.com
No one gives a correct values as website value based on many many things. http://www.cubestat.com is kinda more accurate for me always.
Thank you everyone for your responses, this is great, way better than where I was when I was just guessing. This helps me establish a base line for all of my websites. much appreciated..
dnscoop.com will give you a value too but like others have said, these sites shouldn't be taken as serious valuations. Use the 12 month formula instead.
Wow, the 12 month formula is pretty cool. Thanks for sharing that. I've been working pretty hard and it looks like it's paid off. I am going to fix up some of my other sites.
