Like there are less hair on the both sides and then there are hair in the middle.

Its like an M design....

Or is it because he is losing hair from the sides?

Please let me know as i am thinking of going to the barber and tell him to make this style but i dont know whats it called lol

Both sides and back shorter than the top.

It gradually fades to a longer length at the top that's why it's called a fade.

 

I have long hair now and i want to do fade without cutting my hair short..is that possible? I want to do it exactly as the picture...as his hair is long too.
