Hello there....i have been submiiting my new travel blog to many directoires for the past one month. But none of these directories were shown as my blog backlinks.Does that mean all those directories were nofollow??If that is the case why the hell do these directories even crop up??I just dont the funda...why will someone submit thier blog/website in your directory if they are free but NOFOLLOW?????
Most probably they didn't approved your site. Don't submit to directories with 5k+ queues. The acceptance rate here is usually very high: http://www.vmoptions.com/directory-list.php
free directories take a while to approve submissions. some approve in a day or two and some take as much as month or more to approve. also, your link will be added on an inner page of the directory which will take google some time to find. it take google even more time toupdate the backlinks so if you just started submitting to directories, i would say wait 2-3 months to find the backlinks. yahoo site explorer shows backlinks sooner than google
no. I only found very few no-follow directories. Those are maybe run by owners that don't realize how useless are their services are . Why your backlinks are not shown ? 1) Your website wasn't approved yet or 2) Was approved, but the search engine spiders do not discovered the link from the directories yet. It may take a while until a directory will be fully indexed.
No its not. Among the link building methods... directory submissions is a long term, long result methods. If you want a fast backlink results, post in related forums and make related blogs about your travel blog.
