Have many people installed it as their main OS or a main OS on a second machine?

I know quite a few people who have Windows 7 as their main OS. I use Vista (also Ubuntu and Fedora) as i've had zero problems with it since i first got it, will certainly upgrade to Windows 7 when it's released though :)

Can't believe I am going to say this quite frankly but... win7 is great so far. I have been using it as my main os since day one of the beta. It is faster than xp on my end which makes it blistering faster than vista.

I have been using the 64bit version of Windows 7 on a Lenovo laptop for a few weeks now. It is a big improvement over Vista and the most stable "beta" OS I have used yet. I would still suggest you only give it a try if you are fairly technical.

I used it as my main OS for some time. No problems whatsoever except for the fact that my songs had their first 8 seconds chewed off (known issue/resolved now), and the fact that illustrator CS4 had some quirks (could not rotate objects).

What was amazing though was the fact that all my programs were compatible including ADobe CS4 Master Collection!!!

I am using Windows 7 on a VM, runs fast and so far no crashes.
Looks promising, I will definitely buy the final stable release (and also Snow Leopard).

I'm happy with Vista Ultimate 64bit at the moment. Once the final of 7 comes out, I'll let it go for a little bit then decide to upgrade at some point, just to make sure all the kinks are worked out!

The final version hasn't been released till yet,we are hoping it's release somewhere in October this year,I would definitely say you should go and buy it and for all the XP users, once just try to use Windows 7 and you would definitely feel the difference

I am using windows 7 as my main OS. I also have win XP installed, but now I don't use win XP after I installed windows 7. win 7 is better than XP.

Despite what my name implies I am a OS agnostic and I was on the beta for Longhorn and was lucky to get the Beta for Win7 and I have to say I will be upgrading my windows box from Vista to Win7 on release day I have noticed on my Quad core 4gb of ram system it is using far less resources and is far faster than Vista on boot.
