What do you think is the reasonable Web development and design cost of a simple Joomla site? :)

Many factors come into play here:
    • How much content are you going to have?
    • Do you want the developer to design just the site's graphical layout and structure, or do you want all the initial content pages delivered along with it?
    • Do you have an existing site to use as a starting point, or is it a completely new venture?
    • Will there need to be any custom components developed to handle extra features?

IMHO $100.00 is too low for Joomla sites, MOST of the time you get what you pay for. I usually charge $250.00 or more on joomla websites.

Depends on the designer - I'll charge $700 minimum for Wordpress sites however I have a real business with real overheads, I'm not some kid on a cracked version of Photoshop knocking out so called "professional services"

The trouble is here it's mainly people running blogs and small "online businesses" which basically make fuck all.

For people running real businesses, $700 is nothing for a website if it earns them thousands in product sales

I agree. Most of the websites I make are for real businesses looking to make real income. Unless it is just some simple website for an event or something I usually start my prices at 500 dollars.

I totally agree. I joined this forum for offering some help to others and getting some help in return. Our firm doesn't even come close to the business offerings of a freelancer.

We will do it for $100. Joomla is not expensive if there is no code modification.

But i guess it also depend on your webdesign services... if you can design a site for $100 plus the platform development... it really quite cheap. Coz as what i've known professional web design service range 300-500, im just talking only in design.
