You put amazon links on your site. Then when someone clicks on them and buys something you get a percentage of the sale price of the item that they bought. To get the links you have to open an affiliate account with Amazon.
I write articles at Hubpages and you can use Amazon blocks in the articles. I get few sales each month.
I have a couple of amazon product links on my sites. I have made not made any sales from my products, however I made commissions from other products that people went on to buy through my link. Not bad. I need to learn how to improve my amazon link marketing.
Along with Amazon, be sure to also check out eBay Partner Network for being an affiliate for eBay auctions. eBay is a very trusted marketplace, and people are always looking for great deals.
Thanks guys for sharing. I guess I need enough traffic to sell products in other to get percentages from Amazon.
Yes, that's true. Typically, affiliates get 1 or 2 sales in about 100 clicks to Amazon site. That's, if you have 1000 visitors (to your Amazon product display page), and 100 of them click through to Amazon site (using affiliate link), then one (or 2) sales are likely to happen. Some affiliates reported up to 5-6 sales for 100 clicks, though. Driving that kind of traffic is not easy unless substantial amount of time is spent in promoting the site.
Amazon works....it's just not as profitable as Adsense for me though. What I do like is that I have control over the ads that get displayed on my pages.
