Sometimes you can't even notice the "Ads by Google". That is why it is most probably best to use the leaderboards as the "ads by Google" part is on the bottom-right hand corner and people normally first look at the page from the top-left and corner and work their way accrossed. They may see and ad that interests them and click on it before they even realise that it is an actual ad as they have not had a glance at the "ads by Google" part yet. With the skyscraper ads the "ads by Google" is right up the top so people are most likely to see that straight away unless they load the page and quickly scroll down a little and then start looking at the page. But then that normally doesn't happen, I don't think.
I will often click if it’s a relevant ad and I believe that it will lead to what I’m looking for. I will never click simply to help someone out because if I’m only cling to increase the revenue for the site’s owner, then I’d also be hurting the ads purchaser and that’s not something I’m willing to do. Happy 4th, Kimmy
I agree, if it was not there then we will also have much higher CTR so it does actually have a large effect on your earnings and CTR, but if you optimize your ads into your site well then you can try to minimalize this.
Your question is identical to asking what category of people respond to television, radio or print ads. Ads on websites -- whether from AdSense or other programs -- are just ads in another media. Just as with print, television or radio a small subset of the target audience for your product and/or service will respond to the ad. People think they know what kind of internet user does not click on ads. There is not a type of person who responds and a type who does not. Avowed non-responders do respond to ads for those things that fit into the "political" view of the net and the world. It is impossible to target this type of person. The best you can do it what traditional media does -- build the best product possible for the audience you are trying to reach and take steps to ensure the advertising on your site is makes sense for that audience. AdSense ostensibly does this by analyzing your content and, possibly analysing the responses of visitors to particular ads. Now, if your website is of the anti-advertising variety, then having AdSense might not work as well as for a site which attarcts people looking for answers.
I never, ever click on ads. Even if the ad is something I'm interested in (which happens only very rarely), I'll usually copy and paste the URL...
Whenver I click someone's ad, I always picture the webmaster sitting in front of their screen and constantly refreshing their AdSense stats, just waiting for a single click to come
I have a niche site for people who like dogs and dog agility. I hope some of the ads are useful to my visitors. I'd click on similar ads to mine on dog related websites.
It seems many of people here has not read Google Adsense Guide, rules and regulation. One of major thing is "NEVER CLICK ON YOUR OWN ADS" And thats important. They really care for that. So please never do that. They will ban you and then you will not have any other option. If you really want to visit some of ads. you can do that with Internet Explorer. Download "Google Adsense Preview" Tool instal it in Internet explorer. Then use it on any page of your website without any fear. Nuttymarketer
"It seems many of people here has not read Google Adsense Guide, rules and regulation. One of major thing is "NEVER CLICK ON YOUR OWN ADS" " I don't think anyone here is saying that they click on their own ads.
