http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/national/1107AP_Iraq_Rape_Slaying.html?source=mypi Who was it that said our troops are murderers and rapists? Oh, I remember... *cough* yo-yo *cough* There were a few others, but... See? We're not the bad guys. If we were, these things would go allowed and un-prosecuted. Before you say that that's not our justice system, remember that the US set up the justice system in Iraq. Hey, yeah, it IS TRUE! Our mission in Iraq is WORKING also!
Well... Just a quick thought... Maybe the thing just gets prosecuted because it has been discovered and the world know it. What country wouldn't prosecute such a case. After all... "We're a human country", right?
Dont forget the fact of the crime though. Great the justice system is working, but lets not forget the brutal crime...
Let's not forget that such crimes are done many times a day by other countries, which will never experience the act of justice. US is pretty much unique in it's system of right and justice.
I agree, but don't let those less than 1% of our forces let you stereotype the rest of the country as liberals do.
So we finally have a case being prosecuted. Where's justice for the other 50,000 murdered Iraqi's? Who's taking responsibility? Who's being held accountable? Since you don't want to condemn the army in general, who are you holding the blame on?
What does a silly comparison like this prove? That we shouldn't have any more accountability than an evil dictator? Is that what you're trying to say ?
Sigh... yo-yo, we've been through this before: not all those 50,000 Iraqis were murdered. Many hid terrorists in fear and/or loyalty, and some terrorists used Iraqis as shields because they're so cowardly. 50,000 Iraqis were NOT murdered. 50,000 Iraqis were KILLED. A much, much, smaller percentage (in the tens, hundreds at most) were actually MURDERED. Yet, Saddam killed.... how many hundreds of thousands of his own people? Do not accept this as the only case against our soldiers that have committed crimes. If you did, that would mean you are stubborn for ignorance because YOU don't want to be proved wrong. Why are liberals - especially YOU - looking to blame somebody? Heck, blame yourself. Yo-yo, it's all your fault. Geez. If you want to blame somebody so bad, blame yourself. It's really getting stupid.
SILLY comparison?? The whole reason we're in Iraq was to REMOVE Saddam Hussein from power and take away his WMDs! (Yes, there were some found; please don't whine about it) - He killed more people than have been accidently killed in war in the past 4 years! You know, you keep saying WE. Yet, I'm glad you admitted Saddam was an evil dictator. Who is this "WE" you keep talking about? Is it always "OUR" fault? Is it not just those few, few soldiers' faults?? Why do you insist on BLAMING the entire country when less than - actually, re-looking at the numbers - much less than .5% of our soldiers are convicted...
We took lives, that was unfortunate. But we saved a lot more lives when you look at it in the scheme of things.
In the first days of american plane bombing alone more than 10,000 iraqi's were MURDERED. What does saddam have to do with american army murdering iraqi civilians? You're right.. instead I should pretend like it never happened! Heck we could all be like you and not care about iraqis... we could just pretend army bullets always hit their mark and only terrorists kill people Actually I'm not afraid to admit it, I am partly responsible for it. I'm an american that pays taxes, taxes that were used to build the bombs and send the army over there to murder Iraqis. At least I can sleep at night knowing I didn't vote for bush and that I didn't want war.
In the first 10 hours of Sept. 11, 2001, three thousand innocent civilians were murdered nearly instantly, plus another thousand on the next day from fatal wounds. But, I believe we have a contradiction of the term "murdered". Killing a civilian on purpose is considered murder in my book. Our planes were not aiming at civilian targets; but military installations. Some were in the middle of neighborhoods, some bombs unfortunately missed, but we did not run - and this is even worse - NON-MILITARY planes into large towers to AIM at killing 15,000 people, and only result in killing 4,000. Thanks to our emergency response and brave fire-fighters, many many lives were saved. Well think about it, Einstein. You complain about the war in Iraq: we went INTO Iraq BECAUSE OF Saddam! Duuhhhhh... No. Not blaming somebody is NOT the same as pretending it never happened. I care about Iraqis, unlike you. (You obviously don't if you support the terrorists that were PURPOSEFULLY MURDERING them.) Again, our bullets don't always hit their designated targets. Many times, it can be avoided as the citizens should leave if they suspect a battle coming. I mean, when troops start to line the cities, you can guess to get out for safety. Sometimes,. it can't be avoided... but rarely (hostages, etc). Those who hold people hostage can be considered terrorists, particularly in the middle east. If we kill citizens during a gunbattle in Iraq, it is an accident. You know, you keep complaining. Just leave the country then... geez... you obviously like to stay here if you haven't left... why don't you leave? You have yet to discuss about half of my other points I brought up in post #12 of this thread...
I've been trying to figure out where to move.... but one of those requirements is that it be safer than the US.... can you point to any country on the planet that's safe from the United States attacking it?
You could move to Antarctica... I'd like you there more than where you are now. Greenland is another possibility. Or, you could go to China, they're not at war and they're really progressing quickly. Too bad you'd have to give up a lot of your freedoms... You also have yet to answer/discuss over half the points I've been making...
Unique system of right and justice, US... Is it good or bad? Correct me if I'm wrong. But I can remember earlier, that US financed a young dude, named Hussein.. and some talebans also... That doesn't rhyme with unique system of right and justice. I'm just curious about what you americans think. Why is your system of right and justice so fantastic compared to Europe, Canada, Russia and other countries? Or am I missing something?
