Does Blog posting frequency affects PR?

Does anyone knows if, other factors being unchanged, the frequency of blogposting affects Google's Page Rank?
If there are two blogs with the identical backlinks to the homepage... Does the blog with a dayly posting frequency will have a higher Page Rank (PR) than other with weekly updates?

Please share your thoughts... and thanks in Advance !

Nope, PR is based off the amount of back links and the quality of those links. I have seen one page nothing sites with PR6 and I have seen blogs loaded with daily updates not even achieve a PR4. It is more about the quality of your links.

PR is based on BL of your site not posting frequency though regularly update of your blog with unique contents attract more and more visitors (traffic).

Blog posting frequency affects search engine indexing but it does not have anything to do with Google PR. Although one may argue that since you don't update often, why should people give backlinks to you? :D

PR is based on the number of backlinks pointing towards your site. If you are posting frequently, you can use those posts to increase the number of backlinks to your site through social bookmarking

I originally ask because up to where my knowledge arrives, the number and quality of backlinks are not the only factors in PR calculations.
For example, the older the site is the more PR it will have (other things being equal).
Any other thoughts on the subject??

The age of the domain appears to have some effect on SERP ranking only. So does fresh contents.

PR, as others have said, appears to be based on three factors:

    # Number of backlinks
    # Quality of the links (do they come from "bad neiborghoods"?)
    # Relevance of the sites linking back to yours

thanks Ikki, you mention that "fresh contents" appear to have some kind of effect on SERP... Do you (or anyone else) know how or do you know if Google has a position on this?

I did a quick research and didn't found any official documentation of freshness of contents and SERP. However, I found this on their blog:

    Source: http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2007/08/finding-fresh-results.html

... which leads me to think that they actually do consider freshness of contents while ranking sites in their result pages.

Good posting frequency helps you to get indexed in google well... I think posting frequency has nothing to do with PR.. Its only the number and quality of Backlinks that matters :)
