Cuil is one of the best search engine since the creater is the one who create it is ex-google expert. However, to become the biggest or popular earch engine, function good is not enough, it still need marketing. Marketing is very important and that's why google become the king of the search engine.

Cuil lack of marketing stretagy, it is the weakness. It would be at the top in one year. The best it can achieve is only 5% of the search market

Too funny. Lets say you make the worlds greatest laundry detergent. How are you going to out market the huge corporate interests? Same principal.

CUIL has a long way to go before they can beat Google.

Maybe in 10 years........you'll see Google's "Coke" VS. Cuil's "Pepsi" (After Y! is gone)

I agreee that their search results are terrible and they pull pictures off of other sites to display with the results from my site. They have a lot of work to do to get me using them.

I've never heard of Cuil and I'm around the net a lot! So popularity wise I'm not thinking so highly of it, although I can't see everything lol. It't got a very modern and retro design compared to Google's simplistic design. It has nice colors and I like how the results are displayed within frames.

I don't think it will topple Google anytime soon though. Google is a monopoly, a megaplex of talent (every programmers pretty much whats to work for Google, its a very desirable job). It's got a lot of money and it's starting to venture into other forms of business, eg: cell phones. Who knows maybe we;ll have a Google Game Console next :D

I think it has potential, and a lot of it, but I think it's got a very very long way to go yet. ;)

I have really high hopes for Cuil. I've searched for squidoo lenses using cuil and I was amazed that some of my lenses was already indexed and are on the top results. :)

One of the great things about Cuil, is it's speed. I think speed is an extremely important factor for any search engine. And Cuil seem to have dealt with this pretty well.

Well if noone hardly uses it, then its gonna be pretty quick.

Lets see how it handles when at least 10 people use it at once.

cuil shows alot of irrelevant links as opposed to google. cuil has a larger database but doesn't refine as google does. cuil shows too much graphic in searches, when in fact users doesn't care.

the user interface I must say is messed up, they dont know what's user friendly is.

the word "cuil" itself is mess up, not meaningful in english, easily forgetable, how can someone call that "cool" or pronounce it cool is beyond any concepts out there.

CRAZY failure. Never take over google.
These people have 0 creativity whatsover in using that name as a brand in the first place, and they don't know what userbility is.

This Search Engine? doesn't even know anything about my niche.. although my blog exists on their result but still gives very far result from the keywords i have entered.. It acted fast on my searches but gives unreliable results.. I would appreciate much If it searches slow but gives an accurate results or what we call "SLOWLY BUT SURELY"..

In my prediction this search engine will stop operation on last quarter of this year 2009..:D

*Edited : I don't want to mention the Search Engine name.. Makes me feel like I was promoting this trash..

They've been around for quite a while now but the algorithm sucks ... my site's not ranked for it's own domain name!

Cuil can never make it on top.. the way google took the search engine market it is hard to find a real competitor now. I myself never used cuil in more than 2 occasions.
