Not a surprise to me........Google has been #1 in my area for many years.

They get probably 66% or more of all the search queries....in the world.

They have GWT, something I log into on a regular basis.

They provide Chrome.... the only browser that is completely crash-free on my computer!

They have the best web Directory, with results sorted by Page Rank

And, they have an entire suite of Google Tools & Sites that are very popular.....adding to the domain's visits.

Yes its called "Baidu" and they have like 75% off the search market in china... ;)

Was watching a News story about the young owner and his search engine which
is doing "great" even with google being there already and breathing down his neck.

As for Google being #1 on alexa.... what did you expect with webmasters being the major influence

    thx

I'm sure there are many reasons for this. Perhaps one of Google's newest little attraction is the g1 phone. What a cool phone! You can take it into a store and scan any UPC code on almost any product and google will search the surrounding area for price comparisons in just a matter of seconds. And then the phone has the gas buddy that tells you where to find the cheapest gas based on where you are at via gps. When will their technology end?
