I got 1000 visitors from a site in a day from a plain text version of my URL. It wasn't even a link... dofollow or not. The only way I knew it came from them is that Google sent me an alert on the use of my domain name ( I have alerts set up for this purpose). So, yeah, I think any mention of your site is a good thing, dofollow, nofollow, or plaintext. The more overall exposure, the better.
Its not what the website is built upon the powers the links, but the relevance of the web page it is coming from. In simple words, the backlinks you get will be very powerful if you get them from webpages that are very relevant to your site, no matter what script they are built upon. So links from blogspot or wordpress blogs are also worth getting.
