As my website portfolio grows, I don't have the time to waste on mundane easy tasks (forum posting, blog commenting, blog posting, link exchanges, article writing/submissions, content creation, etc.). I have tried buying packages from people offering their services on DP, but found I spend too much time managing so many different people. I am looking to hire someone to handle all that mundane stuff. Would want a Virtual Private Assistant of some sort to work for me for maybe 4 hours a day? Can anyone share their experiences with "outsourcing" their work? I did have a college student working for me for a bit, but at $9/hour and he didn't like the mundane stuff. Sharing do's, don't's, tips and resources would be great!
I've used independent freelancers from elance etc in the past with mixed results. I started using ODesk recently. So far so good. The response to my job posting was decent - about twenty responses, half of which were worthy of consideration. The engagement with my new staffer has been good so far, but as I say, it's early days. I'm happy so far.
Last time i used to outsource to india but the result is not good coz their poor english. Now i switch to other asian country and the result is whole lot better but the down side is the wage is as high as $15/hour .
I just got off the phone with BrikWorks. They sound like a really good company. You can hire someone for as little as 2 hours a day, which is a nice thing for someone without any outsourcing experience. Only problem is that their base rate is about $11/hour, so there is really no advantage to me. I could hire local college or high school student for less than that, and I would be getting a native english speaker along with face-to-face contact which is nice.
Low price and reliable quality do not stand together. Even for this kind of simple work. Everything depends on Your objectives.
Can you tell me more about it? $11/hour is really out of my price range, but if they can do twice as much in half the time, it is way better than $4/hour...
I’m a part-time virtual assistant before. For a very simple task like researching for blog where I can create new accounts an post a consistent content, my client gave me $4 per hour for that kind of job. In your case, I think spending $8 is fair if you’ll require your VA to do some article writing.
Sure man, outsourcing is great but only if you know how to do it. Just like with anything there's a bit of a learning curve. I am such a fan that I am actually setting up an outsourcing company. Feel free to PM me if you want a quote since I cannot link right now to our site since it is being put together. A first tip would be to only pay a salary per week up front until you are comfortable with the work your VA can do
