    Hi there,

I want to know what's the future of SEO.

What other online marketing methods can compete or replace SEO ?

Please put your thoughts on it.

    Regards

SEO will likely evolve into more of a website optimization role that focuses on improving click through rates, conversion rates and bounce rates. Eventually the search engines will rely more on user behavior to rank websites. So a quality website will be more important than ever. Some day the search engines may no longer care about how many links a website has. Links may shift focus from how they help rankings to how much traffic they will provide. While links still count, it will become increasingly important to get very relevant links....relevant to both your niche and your target location.

I'm not sure if there are any other online marketing methods that can compete or replace seo. There are similar strategies such as ppc and e-mail marketing, they don't have anywhere near the effectiveness of seo.

    Looks into crystal ball...

SEO will be constantly evolving so use it to your advantage while it is still available because some of the techniques will be obsolete at some point.

Interesting point. It sucks to think that all these hours spent in link building could be useless some day, huh? :p

I heard that Google is going to change the algorithm, and they will try to personalize each search on individual basis, looking on the user past search and browsing behavior.

personalised search is already implemented by google howeer you need to be logged in with your google account

anythime the spam industry starts to abuse a technique then google reduces that techniques in the algorythm, so anyone using social bookmarking should be aware that this technique is presently be abused and will most likley be targetted in the very near future. whether the links they generated be worthless, it is anyones guess

in australia there is a huge push by the hard core SEO professionals to emphasise conversions, there is no point in have 1000 visits per day or being on page 1 if you get no conversions, compare this to 18 mths prio ten the Hard core SEO professionals were promoting getting onto Page 1 and Page rank.

I would like to see businesses demand a optimised web page when they get a web site built.. then they take coaching on how to write good content

however there are alot of old websites out there but i am guessing they have no interest in ranking
