From what I know all data cards in India suck, they provide you amazing slow n sucking speeds. I had Tata, I used it for something and kicked off the connection.

Btw what's your story with BSNL? share it man don't wait! ;)

Hello, i took the BSNL EVDO card on February 28,2008 and at that very day,i had talked to the BSNL SDO here and had cleared all of my doubts.

    He had said me,
    "There are 2 options..
If you take the EVDO on RENTAL Basis, then it will cost you 4500 INR and you need to pay 750 INR for first 3 months and after that, the EVDO becomes permanent for you as its RENTAL PERIOD is for 3 months only.

But If you buy the EVDO,then it will cost you 6500 INR and you need to pay 550 INR each month". Then from the fourth month onwards, you need pay 550 INR every month..

Since the EVDO was launched 3 days back here in India,i took it as RENT and paid them 4500 INR .

Now since March,im always getting bills for 750 INR

    WTF!
    Not sure,why!

Today, after so many months,i got time to call these stupids and they are saying that,
"There is no such scheme,in which your rented card will become permanent in 3 months. If you have taken it on rented basis, then you need to pay 750 INR forever for it. If you want to have a permanent one, then buy a new one,but this existing one, cant be made permanent for you ."

    Now,this month,i got a bill of 850 INR.. I dont understand,what the f**k goes on with them..

And for the first 7 months, the connection was awesome. I always used to get 200-250 kb/sec download speeds in IDM also and the speed used to show 2mbps in Network N sharing center.

Now since 2 months, the connection has dropped 8x times. I dont get 50 kb/sec also.
And in Network n Sharing center,it shows 230 KBPS now..

    It should around 2 MBPS..

There are 2 wireless plans in BSNL. One is NIC,which is dialup for 256 mbps for 250INR/month and the other one is EVDO broadband for 2.4mbps for 550 INR/month..
I doubt,if those punk BSNL guys have chnaged my EVDO to NIC,thinking I would not know.

Tomorrow,Im going to kill their whole family..
    Bad day for BSNL tomorrow..

I never expected such bull shit from Govt Sector . PISSED!!

hi goldberg, i have sent bullies to bsnl guys before, and must say that works :D

    anyways,
am using the evdo too, and its about 50 kbps constantly, never disconnects and has so far given 100% uptime. i bought the card, and yes there is a service tax too, but so far am pretty happy with the service.

The bsnl broadband on the other hand stays always disconnected...

No bro. EVDO says 2.4 mbps and I always used to get 200-250 kb/sec before. Just since 2 months,im f**ked.. 50 kb/sec is not at all good for EVDO. Even NIC gives 60 kb/sec lol..

They are playing with it. They said me 550 ,but im gertting 750 bill since the first month. And i dont have any problem to pay 10000 for this also, but i need dedicated service and speed. Im losing my clients for this f**king service by BSNL. I hate them..

As per EVDO original plans, it says 2.4 Mbps ,so that should give download speed upto 300 KB/sec.

I got it for first 5-6 months also. I used to get 200-240 KB/sec..

    But now,it has came down to 20-35 KB/sec.. :(:(:(

    Right...

I dont understand, why in US,for 200$,you get Optic Fibre T1 line, with HD TV,phone and here in India, for 350$,you dont get 2 mbps line also...

India is such a backward country. Damn!
Im pissed to live here and hamper my business.. :(

the speed of the evdo depends on the distance of your PC from their tower, my distance is too much so i get an average of 50 KBPS, however sometimes it reaches a lot higher and shows more tower icon on the top, but comes down to 50kbps again...

my friend got a bsnl static IP line, its very costly but his speed is good, you can try that out...
