Hey friends I think i have run into an issue. I am promoting a site for client that has exactly copies of the same domain with different urls. like i am promoting www.xyz.com other domains are www.xyz.net www.xyza.com All the three have same layout, same content, same metas. While checking for ranks for www.xyz.com i found out that for some keywords the other two are ranking but not the one i am promoting. Can somebody please help and advice.
I recommend you to inform your client that copy of same site in different domain will lead to duplication issues.
you may get in trouble dude , So at leasst change the title and meta description tag plus 1st paragraph of each page asap.
it will be of no use...sites have to be deleted from those two domains and those domains need to be redirected to the main domain. changing the title,meta and first paragraph do not make any difference. Googlebot is quite intelligent
But shailendra If the client won't agree to do that then what? We have already worked on the site for last 4 months and the problem has been diagnosed just now In any case client will not remove his other two domains.then what could be the solutions to solve this problem.
explain the client with the problem he will face as far as SEO is concerned...if he is not ready to so then let the main site run but change the total content of the other two sites so that they can either bring traffic to the main website or help in the branding but do not run same copies of website on three different domains.
