Video marketing does work if you know how to do it. The problem is that most people have no idea about the principles of video marketing and expect that any video can drive loads of traffic to their website. Well, that doesn't work!

If you want anything to succeed you must know what you are doing otherwise you'll end quiting and come to forums posting that it doesn't work leading mostly newbies to do not even try it.

I don't know why people don't take into account how many other people are on Youtube, the biggest video blog in the entire net and they still consider that many more are posting video ads on the network... So, why are people suprised that the margins are too low in uploading video ads to YouTube accounts? Are they really that clueless?

uhhhhh,,,, YES - most people that have never video blogged do not have the slightest idea about how to do it or the success rate. Most people think you can make a video, post it on youtube, and within seconds you will get 1,000,000,000,000,000 views.

I have spent almost 2 years building up my account. That is a long time - 22 months of filming, editing, and wondering why my videos are not getting views. But now that I have a few thousand subscribers, my new videos can get 10,000 views in just a few days.

Most people expect instant success. If it dont work in the first few days or weeks, they give up. Video blogging is not like that. It can take months and even years before your videos really start to get views.

But there are exceptions. I have seen people that can join youtube, post an outstanding video the very first time, and get 100,000 views in a matter of days. But those cases are rare.

There is a way around all of this. You can pay to promote your video on youtube. Its a little expensive, but you can buy a front page spot on youtube for your video. This is one way to kick start your views and subscribers. I have thought about doing that for my sons account.

So when you video blog, you have 3 choices.

    1. Expect to spend months or even years making videos before traffic picks up.

    2. Make a really outstanding video.

    3. Pay to have your video promoted on the home page of youtube.

Ya know it's funny how things relate to each other... We've been talking about how just posting videos on Youtube alone won't generate as much results as we'd like, and yet in another thread, some dummy has the nerve to ask why he can't post a threat about selling YouTube Accounts.

    Look at this nonsense:

I never successes using video to market my blog. I'm not comfortable using video either, my Internet speed in here is very slow. I prefer to spam forum and Digg to get more traffic. :D

Well that's a valid reason not to explore video advertising. I know exactly how it feels to have a slow internet connection. It's how I started off, myself.

It is really quite risky but yet the consequences of failing are not that bad unless you have invested a lot of $$ to make the videos in the first place.
