Hey there, I always hear about government grants for businesses when I watch television. I am starting up my own LLC and was wondering if these grants really do exist? If so, where does one find them at? Thanks in advance for any information. Sincerely, Travis Walters
well it depends on where you are living. In US, there are many companies for such purpose on private part. Government may help you only if you show them what benefit is there for the country
yeah - it's my (limited) understanding that it's almost impossible to get a government grant to start a small business anymore - there are things that you can get grants for would be considered business related - but i don't think that these grant programs for the sole purpose of starting a business exist any more ;( Dang that Matthew Lesko!!!!! But, I may be misinformed - I'm sure someone else has more experience with this and can help.
Hey there, Well my site is an environmental website that helps connect green people with green businesses and organizations. There is a news and forum section that explains to them how to become greener. I am sure saving electricty, etc. would do some good for the country. You would think there would be something out there for an environmental business. Sincerely, Travis Walters
Greetings, I was looking at the following website: http://www07.grants.gov/aboutgrants/eligibility.jsp I figured there had to be government grants out there for good purposes such as my environment website. However, a few statements on this website are rather confusing. At the top, it states that personal financial assistance such as small business start-up loans can not be found on this website. However, near the bottom of the page, it says that small businesses can qualify for government grants. So I have a few questions. 1. What is the difference between a for-profit organization and a business? I am in the process of starting an LLC but I have a .ORG domain name. I would think I am going to be a for-profit business? 2. Regarding the size standards on that grant website, do I need to be under those specifications in terms of size or are they the minimum specifications to qualify as a small business? The money I am looking for is actually to hire people to write environmental news articles and help with my green forum. I figure if I have information on my website that can help the environment, the government might be willing to help out on that since it benefits Americans. Does anybody here have any experience with government grants? Thanks for any feedback and / or assistance you can provide me with. Sincerely, Travis Walters
Last time i used to apply one. But the process is really troublesome. You need to get pass a lot of verification stage before they supply fund for you. Lastly,i turn down the offer, then i switch to raise my fund by using private fund coz it more easy and flexible in term of paying back term.
