G'day All If another website as linking to your website from their home page, would you prefer the link to be a Text Link or an Image Link and why?
text link with proper anchor text for more link juice image link for more traffic if the image as a proper alt tag, i would pick the image link
I'll prefer to have image link with alt tag...as it will serve for my both needs..traffic as well as link juice...
I agree, a nice link with propper anchor text and a description is nice, but an image link with propper use of the alt tag is good too I dont mind really, I just want links!!!
A text link with keywords in it, at least when doing blog commenting.On my blog, I always have the alt-tag in images.
I wonder about link juice. Which link has more value for google: the text one or the image link with the alt tag?
Maybe there is no difference? If you look at google cache then click on Text-Only you will see the alt tags of all image links appear as anchor text links.. so it works out to be the same?
Text Linking - Gives you option rel=nofollow which prevents your pr from leak. Moreover when you put keyword inside <a>...</a> which it can be deep linked Banner Linking - You have few options to optimize but placing keyword inside alt tags works as I have tested. If you are giving link to somebody give in the form of ext link with rel=nofollow. Banner also consume space as you already know.
definitely text links with proper anchor text It is noticed that banner or image links distract when not managed properly
Both are useful use alt property always and in anchor tag use title properties always. both can help you for content optimization.
