Does Article submissions really get you a lot of back links?
Is it not necessary for the article to be searched in the Article Directory just as in the Web Directory?

It depends.. it depends how many articles you submit and how many article directories you submit them to. It also depends if any publishers "pick up" your article for publication on their website. It can be viral if you submit a quality article.

I've gained hundreds of backlinks from article submission. I guess it depends how you tackle it though.

Better go on submitting original articles to avoid duplicate contents... and place your link on it and it will be considered as your backlink on crawling.

Article sumbission will get you a lot of links but only if it gets picked up by publishers. What you want to do is submit a really good article to lots of article directories and hope that lots of publihers pick it up. If that happens you will get loads of traffic.

I think that's important to keep in mind... "submit a really good article". Don't just submit your article for a single backlink. Submit a really quality article that will be picked up by several websites. People will not pick up a thoughtless article! They just won't... would you pick up an article like that?

    Quality before quantity...

Alternatively you can just submit a rubbish article and be happy with getting links from just the article sites. It depends on how many links you need really.

The point is that article submission has benefits both from the links you get from the article sites and from other sites that *may* pick up your article depending how good it is.

If I need to get 200 instant links I can copy an article from somewhere and submit it to 200 sites and the jobs done in less than 5 minutes.

Submitting original articles to sites that mass syndicate your content wont avoid duplicate content.

Why not just keep your articles and real content a bit separate to avoid dupe content if you are worried about it?

the thing is , the ones that pick up the articles are "so so " sites , the very good ones are not picking articles from articles directory i think.

I've built hundreds of links from articles. I get traffic daily from them also. So, it gives you more than just a link.

i think it depends if the topic's worth heeding for by the majority. well, it's more of a Press Release, though PR is some kind of a news form of article.

For me id say submitting a lot of articles updates your contents and ive heard google pagerank drops from people who dint just update their content for 1 single day. So my opinion is to submit a mixture of original and collected articles for a constant update as original article might take 3-4 times as higher time required than a collected well organised topic relevant article..

Can u mark the negatives and positives from my opinion?
