[$40] --> Business Card Design Contest (logo provided)

Hi everyone,
We need 2 cards designed.
The 1st card is really where the designing is required. The 2nd card is just simple text.

Winner will be selected on March 3rd, 2009.
1st Card - $35
2nd Card - $5

We’d like the card to be submitted in a form where other employee’s could change their info easily.

1st Card

We are Real Estate Investors and often provide opportunities for others who are interested in investing with us. Hence, the card must elicit a strong sense of professionalism.

Colors: Full color front & back. Dark blue/red (we’re open to other suggestions)
Logo is provided, but you’re free to change it as required.
Card will have a matte coating
Spot Gloss - I would like to be able to spot gloss the card as well (ie. applying a gloss coating to a part of the card such as the company logo, and leaving the rest of the card in a matte finish). I’m not certain how to specify to the printers what to spot gloss so any help here would be appreciated.

Front of the card should include the following:

Logo
Employee Name
Title (ie. Managing Partner)

2nd Card
As mentioned previously, this card does not need to be fancy. What it does need to do though is catch people attention so that they are able to determine what the card is all about in 2 seconds.

Here are some key words that we think the card should elicit:
• Casual
• Simple
• Comforting
• Eye Catching
• Bright (ie. Yellow)
• Straight to the Point
• Easy to read – gets to the point… what we’re doing and how to contact us. The other info is there if they have the time to read it.

Colors: Full color front & back – Can be one color as long as it is eye-catching (ie. yellow)
Card with rounded corners

Front of the card should include the following:
WE BUY HOUSES (big and huge block letters)

No equity? Behind on payments? No problem!
We’ll buy your house or take over the payments today!

Absolutely no commissions or fees!

Thanks for the quick turnaround.

I'm assuming this is for the 2nd card design..

Here are a couple of comments:
- I'd like the "WE BUY HOUSES" to be larger and the font weight to be heavier
- The phone number should also be the second point of focus so we need to draw that out to be much larger.
- The logo should not be on this card (as you'll notice, my logo is for Property Alliances, the WE BUY HOUSES is under The Property Purchasers). I'd like to keep both separate as they target different people.
- It would be interesting to see how this would be laid out in a vertical card format.

Just a quick note about the Logo... if you need to change the colors to match or correspond with your design, feel free to do so. For example, I know that I asked for dark blue and/or red on the first card and the logo colors may not necessarily reflect or match well with that. I don't want the logo to hamper the design of the card.

 

For these two:
- I'm wondering if thicker font would be better for the WE BUY HOUSES title. I don't mind it wraps to the next line as well.
- Center the wording in the middle
- Increase the size of the phone #

I think that the 2nd color for the WE BUY HOUSES stands out more (which is good).

- Don't like the Names and Phone Number on the top (would prefer it on the bottom).
- I'm not sure about the arc shapes in the background. It looked okay for the horizontal layout, but it doesn't look right for the vertical layout.

These ones are a little busy. There's a little too much going on in the background and the logo seems lost amongst it all.

 

I'm not sure if I like the font used on the image on the right. I know that it matches the logo font, but with all that white space, it feels a little bare.

Also, I'm feeling a little uncertain about having the logo with the wording and then reiterating "Property Alliances" right underneath it.

I like the blue.. it's growing on me.
The logo should not be on these cards.

The contact info needs to be emphasized a lot more on these cards. After the message of "WE BUY HOUSES", the next big point is how they can reach us.

 

I like the font of the "WE BUY HOUSES" on the top.
Not sure if Red is the right color for this one. Don't feel that it stands out as much because of the color.

Wow... gotta say that this definitely caught my attention
However, I think that it's a little too funky for my liking.

 

Going forward, can everyone please make their submissions with a
VERTICAL CARD DESIGN.​
