I'm not sure on how much i know but the most basic one like html and php are still in progress to master it.
I very much doubt if you are getting into programming that you know all them what you should say is I am currently learning these, and you cant count dos as a language
PHP HTML (but it's not really a language) C++ Visual Basic Pure Basic (quite close to Visual Basic, but not from Microsoft) A bit of ASP.NET A bit of PL/SQL (oracle procedure language)
saurabhj, Last time I checked (When I was at College maybe.. ) HTML stands for Hyper Text Markup Language and it is indeed a nemotecnic (that is readable for humans and it seems like it, but understood as well by an application that is interacting with the CPU in this case the browser, not the computer cause she only understands binary 1's and 0's) language. And CSS is not a language for sure, just a definition of attributes for elements (Cascading Styling Sheets) however as part of a behavior of an element it is somehow a definition of a structure or several of them. It may count in this case as a definition of a language element, so it counts if you know it good. Pretty much the analogy that you do of a word and a dictionary, they are not the same but they are indeed in the same ball park. If you are saying that they are not PROGRAMMING Languages you are correct, but still we can consider them in the list since the OP never made a distinction in the original post / question. Happy coding!
Treggs, Please note that the original post does not make the distinction of programming language vs computer language. If you see it by that perspective a computer language is anything that is not binary that allows you to interact with it somehow does not matter how. Therefore DOS it is a computer language since it allows you to operate the MS-DOS platform and when you are running an operating system, you are running it from that platform. If the computer responds back to you by an input that is not ones and zeros then you can consider it a computer language Not a programming language, but still a nemotecnic language.
I am not going to list javascript php, html and such because those arent real programming languages, c# is what I know however.
