Hi , Please i'm facing troubles in my site my alexa rank was 600.000 and was getting better but the site was down for 2 months and it's back now but the rank is moving to be 997,070 Then 1,014,585 Then 1,244,140 What is The Problem Please ? What can i do ? Note : I removed about 50 article was in the site . The Site is : www.zaisland.com Please check it up and tell me what is happening .and How to fix it and Get better rank at least as it was . Thank You
Alexa is just a measure of traffic. Since your site was down and you removed some articles then you have hindered your sites ability to get traffic. Market, Market, Market your site and increase your traffic then your alexa rank will improve. Don't sweat it though, Alexa don't mean that much unless your trying to sell advertising on your site.
Yes Alexa is not the be all and end all. I would say it's just a guide to traffic. Alexa can only track visitors who have the plugin installed or if the website itself has installed their tracking module, so if you have a lot of visitors who do not have the toolbar, the rankings might be skewed dramatically. To get a better rank, it's simple, get more traffic. But don't focus on it too much, it's not really that useful. The alexa ranking on our website is around 45,000 at the moment, but we take it all with a "pinch of salt". Cheers Tim
In my opinion, ALexa is just about update content.. If you want increase your alexa, then you have to post new article everyday.. Believe me this is the best way to increase alexa.. I have prove this... Now my alexa 69.000

try to increase the number of unique visitors to yours site, market it in all the ways possible(white hat,join social networks like blog catalog, face book etc. your page views also count in alexa rank.
the probable cause is your NON-reading of alexa FAQ and webmaster info else you would KNOW that any rank greater than 100'000 is INaccurate. take your time to READ and understand the full information on alexa. that will help you focusing on HOW to get better rank. BY getting MORE visitors. by creating more content!
