I was going though some directories looking into starting to sign up for them and it seemed that all that I was finding was ones I need to sign up for, create a username and password for. I guess this makes sense but it this the normal for the sites. For some reason I was not expecting it. Guess it is even more work then I thought. I guess I am also worried that this is going to start creating more spam for my inbox.
only a few directories ask for a "sign-up", but most of them ask for the email address of the submitter. if you are submitting to a lot of directories, I suggest you use a separate email address for it. many directory owners misuse the email addresses that they collect and start spamming the submitters with all sorts of offers, advertisements and newsletters. create an email address with a free service such as Yahoo for submitting to directories.
OK then perhaps instead of using my normal I will create something like and use that. I have the "Internet business promoter" program or at least I think that is what it was. But looks like I still have to enter most of the info myself. At least it helps keep everything together
