I'm using Firefox 2.0 version and I always think Firefox is an excellent one. They keep asked me about upgrade to version 3.0 but I didn't accepted because I have many plugins that incompatible with version 3.0 so I have to keep usinng version 2.0 I just closed my browser and re-open it and BAM!! Firefox automate update itself to version 3.0.5 without my permission!! I have pissed because Firefox do upgrade itself as forced me to version 3.0 and I have lost many plugins that incompatible with version 3.0 What the hell with it?????
I do hope that the versions which are incompatible must be having a compatible version of plugins available. Just search for it
You should have done this earlier: Tools > Options > Advanced > Update > Turn off automatic update (800th post ) - ads2help
There is a lesson to be learnt in every mistakes... I never keep any software/program on auto-update. At best allow only downloads, but do make it ask, before install.... I am still using FF2 for the same plugins in-compatibility reason and it keeps asking me for updates every week.... Regards, RightMan
There must be FF3 compatible replacement for your original addons . Major addons will upgrade to FF3 compatible . Just find another one .
That's odd because the latest version is 3.0.6. I agree, including the fact that I'm sure the v2 plugins are either no longer being updated, or won't be available altogether! I'm sure there v3 replacements for most of them. This is like Windows XP when Vista came out
I was really wierded out by FF3 at first. I kept 2 on my laptop for a while, and finally realized the plugins just had to be updated.
Think version 2 is old??!!! I'm still at version 1.5.0.10. Version 3 doesn't let you click a link and open it in a new window!!!
Firefox has become a pain in the ass for me. The search keyword function while entering text url box always makes me hang for a few seconds. Man why is this new version so sucking?
Yes it does, it's the first option when you right click on a link. Or also Shift + Clicking the link works too. I'm sure there's a way to make that option default too.
I agree with the people. FF2 is more complete as a product than FF3. I upgraded to 3 and found my plug-ins were slow to update too. Also, I've had FF3 crash on me way to many times. I went back to 2 and will update at the end of the year when most bugs and plug-ins are ready.
