Those who call themselves ATHEISTS only proudly declare they don't believe and claim that they are numerically MORE than the BELIEVERS, who, specifically us Christians, humbly manifest our faith in the One God, and even call unto them (the atheists) to come join us in faith and be saved. At only one (1) post for every DP member, why don't we each of us single out whether we are an ATHEIST or a BELIEVER? That way, we will find out the truth about the Atheists' claim that they number more than us believers. I am a Christian believer. What about you?
I'm blessed knowing the Lord, my life would not be the same without Him. Can't speak for others though. God bless.
I'm atheist in the sense that I reject theism, although that may be considered more along the lines of non-theism? "God" is too powerful and abundant to label or characterize... imo.
Man created many Gods, I believe in God who created man. "the One and only. the Eternal, Absolute; He begetteth not nor was begotten. And there is none comparable unto Him."
I gathered a little knowledge on 3 religious scriptures. I was searching for, in which religious scripture God gave the particular name of a religion and its follower. I searched Bible, nowhere written about the religion name “Christianâ€, Jesus or God didn't name the religion! I searched Gita, nowhere I found the religion name “Hinduâ€. Those religions names were given by human being! But I found more than I expect in Qur’an, clear-cut . Yes, God himself named the religion and its followers. The religion is Islam and if I follow, I’ll be a Muslim. God also cleared his name, “Allahâ€. I loved the little 4 lines definition of God there Say: He is God, the One and Only; God, the Eternal, Absolute; He begetteth not, nor is He begotten; And there is none like unto Him.
I have numerous objections. 1) There are many, many, many, many threads that have polls counting the number of theists vs atheists. go look at one of them. 2) I have never heard ANYONE say that there are more atheists/agnostics/nontheists than theists. NEVER. This is a strawman argument. 3) You are utterly misrepresenting the atheist argument. Until you learn anything at all about atheism, don't bother. Anyway, reliable numbers of atheists and theists can be found here. 1. Christianity: 2.1 billion 2. Islam: 1.5 billion 3. Secular/Nonreligious/Agnostic/Atheist: 1.1 billion 4. Hinduism: 900 million 5. Chinese traditional religion: 394 million 6. Buddhism: 376 million 7. primal-indigenous: 300 million 8. African Traditional & Diasporic: 100 million 9. Sikhism: 23 million 10. Juche: 19 million 11. Spiritism: 15 million 12. Judaism: 14 million 13. Baha'i: 7 million 14. Jainism: 4.2 million 15. Shinto: 4 million 16. Cao Dai: 4 million 17. Zoroastrianism: 2.6 million 18. Tenrikyo: 2 million 19. Neo-Paganism: 1 million 20. Unitarian-Universalism: 800 thousand 21. Rastafarianism: 600 thousand 22. Scientology: 500 thousand Secularism is 3rd, with 16.5% of the world population.
I am a polypantheist. I believe that godhood is expressed in all existence. I believe that we create images of this godhood to relate to it. This is what Star Wars called the Force, or what is called Kundalini in Yoga. I do not believe God created the Universe. I believe God=Universe
Atheist, more or less. Certainly not religious, or subscribing to an actual belief system. So, maybe Agnostic, but cynical about it?
What a stupid thread, first off what does the number of theists or atheists have anything to do with which is correct. Second, learn how to use the built in poll feature. Thirdly, atheist.
I guess atheist believe in something too.. there cant be any human being without believe.. and i believe in "the One and only. the Eternal, Absolute; He begetteth not nor was begotten. And there is none comparable unto Him."
If you didn't figure out from his (?) sig, Ziya is a muslim. From the 'help gaza' link, I suspect a rther radical muslim at that.
Elenojo, I allready proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that people of faith way outnumber athiests in this world, but even if I proved it, they will just come up with some excuse that " it just shows how many poor and ignorant people there are in this world" or " how many naive and brainwashed people there are". Facts are facts. Why continually make excuses to cover for them. If you want to do credit to your beliefs you must show that your quest is a quest for truth, but if you deny the truth and facts when they are staring you in the face what does that say about teh foundation of what you personally believe in. Like i said many times before, i know people of all faiths and many athists and have counted most of them as my friends. Its only the self rightious people on both sides that dont do themselves justice. I have never evanglized anyone to believe as i do. I prefer to let my intentions and actions speak for me, and believe me folks, these 2 things speak louder than any words ever could. OH and by the way im Melkite (greek catholic)
I believe In God, Lord of the Universe. Who created one and all, and will judge us for what we do in this life. He may exuse us for our imperfection in delivering His rights(Prayers), But He will not excuse us for not delivering rights of fellow human beings.
Oooh .. you must be very clever.. lol... Yes I am muslim. And yea calling to help Gaza made you think of radical muslim ..lol ..
I agree with that. Also, I don't believe in an angry and vengeful God as depicted in the Old testament. God is love - and not necessarily romantic love - but unconditional love. Often religious bigots criticize religions where idols of Gods are worshipped, when actually almost every religion indulges in some form of idol worship (Christians worship the cross, Muslims when they go to Mecca, revere the black stone called Kaaba). According to Hinduism, God is there in every one of us. The key to finding him is to look within ourselves. When we truly are able to answer the question "Who am I?" Then we can be truly liberated and experience 'self realization', leading to 'Sat-Chit-Anand' (Existence-Knowledge-Bliss)
