Very urgent help needed

I bought a domain name last year using Yahoo! smallbusiness. I chosen plan $1.99 for top level domains. Though they charge only $1.99 for a .com,.net domain for the first year, they charge 35$ as the renewal charge. Now, I don't want to pay this much cost for renewal. Is their any way I can bypass the $35 fee and I can pay only $9 which is the normal renewal cost?

Please help me. Any help will be appreciated :).

    Regards,
    HM

Transfer it to another registrar... Sign up with something like godaddy and look for the transfer domain option under domains.

The renewal fees are included in the transfer fee. Your domain will be extended with another year. No need to pay renewal fees.

This is how companies like this make money , they arent gonna make a profit charging $1.99 a month so they have to charge ( or try and charge in this case ) for other services , Did you get this sorted with no cost ??

As per my limited understanding, yahoo must have charged you lesser fee in the first year as a part of promotion only....and they would have contracted you to remain with them for more than a year to recover their full amount from you in the second year...

It looks more like a deferred payment kind of promotion to me..hence I do not think they would let you go....without you paying the renewal fee..

Anyways...do try transferring and see what happens!
