so there are some plugins for wordpress that claim they can auto generate frontpage/search-result thumbnails for your wordpress layout by scanning your posts for image files and cropping them to a thumbnails directory. is there any way on earth to auto-generate thumbnails for embedded videos in your wordpress posts if those videos are not hosted on your own server? i've seen some attempts at still-framing the videos into thumbnails but it looks pretty horrible... please lemme know anything at all you've seen, thanks!

update: don't buy this crap! it's full of huge bugs and the programmer ignores all emails and forum posts.
Hi Kanter, I'm the author of PHPMyVideoBlog plugin. How can this be "manual embed" if the proposal of the script is to create a auto blog? Greatfightvideos.com has more than 3000 posts, do you think that I added all this with copy and paste? Where are these huge bugs? If you found something, please send me now so I can fix it as soon as possible. The plugin is working fine, no bugs. I'm not ignoring e-mail and posts, you can see in the Support Forum that all topics were answered and solved. Only 3 or 4 are open waiting for customer reply. I have updated this plugin since 2007, more than 220 sales here in DigitalPoint, why would I ignore my buyers? A new version (2.5) just become available with more features and videos providers. with all due respect, thats bullshit jorge. i didn't say this plugin is "manual embed"... i said we will just "manual embed" our site for now since your plugin doesn't work at all. your system also doesn't provide any way for clients to receive "free updates for life!" or whatever else you're claiming these days. we emailed you 3 times using your contact page and got no response. we also submitted a paypal claim and you failed to respond, not even a simple reply. your plugin promised to work for around 10 sites and only worked smoothly on perhaps 2 of them. DO NOT BUY THIS CRAP! you all have been warned.
There is a Clients Downloads section in the Forum. Nearly 70 people have already downloaded the new version that was released yesterday. People who bought in 2007 still using the plugin. I'm sure you received my e-mails. Well, I respect your opinion and good luck for you. Cheers!
kanter I think you way out of line calling Jorge out like that. I'm one of those who have been using MVB since near the beginning and it is everything and then some. If you had posted an support question at the forums Jorge, myself or someone would have assisted you asap, although unless you go by somebody else I see know instance of your name on there. This reply is unbiased and I have no direct affiliation with MVB other than an happy and satisfied customer!
