Difference between Wikipedia and............

    Hi,

    What is the difference between google and wikipedia and why does google give much importance to wikipedia whenver we type anything we found that wikipedia is on top? Do you get any benefit while using wikipedia?

    Wikipedia is most trusted source of information and had very high amount of backlinks for each page.

    Google is a SEARCH ENGINE

    WIKIPEDIA is an ENCYCLOPEDIA

    Since wikipedia is an open source encyclopedia means anyone can edit ,add and correct information in it plus all the information is actively moderated that's why the information from wikipedia is reliable not only to people but also to GOOGLE.

    you can use wikipedie when writing some article, essays etc

    google favor wikipedia because the wikipedia articles tend to have lots of backlinks to them from other sites.

    differences can be stated between two things when there are some similarities between them. but there isn't any between Google and Wikipedia. Google is search engine whereas Wikipedia is online Encyclopedia.

    google is search engine and wikipedia is online encyclopedia nothing else. but google put result from wikipedia on top by default in some case.

    Google never puts anything in its SERP by default:rolleyes: Google aims to provide user with the quality results for the searched term. Wikipedia is a repository of quality information which is non commercial in nature and is therefore visible for number of queries

    Absolutely - and because it has this golden position it can boost it's own pages almost entirely from it's own internal links.
    Wikipedia is not a reliable source. It's reputation as such is largely smoke and mirrors.

    I'll guarantee you a nofollow link on wikipedia that will stay there for 5 minutes for $100. Anybody who tells you they can do better than that is yanking your chain.
