I'm going to start with PPC advertising and I'm ready to take the risk... but I have couple of questions before I begin... Does PR and backlinks matters the QS while advertising a newly created website through PPC ? Will a newly created website be able to outstand the competition even if the site is unknown to many people ? What if we just tweak our landing page, ad keywords, bid amount etc will that be able to beat the competition ? What about PPC for long term promotion of a particular product ? thanks
1.PageRank and backlinks have absolutely no bearing on your PPC campaign 2. Impossible to say - depends entirely on what you're offering, at what price, how professional your site looks and who your competition is. 3. You need to try things out, keep monitoring and adjust your site and campaign to what works 4. What about it? If your advertising is working, keep doing it.It if isn't, don't.
Looks like you are good to try it. New websites start using PPC right away and they always see results right away for visitors. It may not bring sales, but it's well worth it for traffic if you do it right. If you don't know much about PPC, I suggest you read up on it before you start using it. There is plenty of free advice and tricks around online you can find. Just search for it.
I don't think so. that is one of the advantages of ppc. you don't have to have a high pr or alot of backlinks to get traffic instantly. you just need money to pay for the traffic.
how do we get on the top 3 PPC ranks which are on the left side of SERP with orange background ...are those need above $1 per click ..do we also need to pay for per impression ?.. and I think people usually click most of those ads as they r quite catchy ...the further ads on right side may not get much traffic, right ?
I've always though that google uses it's algo to figure out the quality score. I agree that PR and backlinks and other external factors probably don't play a role, but the regular things like keyword density and appopriate title and heading tags probably are very significant. A really smart SEO guy might exploit that. Wish I was one.
I would focus on some basic Site Optimization (title tags, meta tags, image optimization, relevant keyword density, About Us, contact us, Site map, TOS, privacy policy etc.) And having relevant Ad copy for your google ad, and tightly knit keyword groups, and a relevant domain name to go with.. If you do all that, you should be able to get a great quality score. but I have heard that having alot of relevant backlinks can help you too.
You can start a new site today and have 1000's of visitors by tomorrow with adwords without any PR or backlinks. I did this for over a year without ever trying to SEO. But it can get expensive. For a long term strategy I would start to try and move your site up in the regular search engine results pages.
Well as said before by many, there is absolutely no connection between these things. PPC and PR/backlinks are two whole different ballgames.
PR and backlinks do not have effect to the QS, it depends on ads+keyword+landing page=>same trend - However, I always get at least 3 links for any new site from Squidoo, ezine articles, etc. if I'm promoting a new site..
Well, PR and Backlinks do have an effect. The best quality score for any given keyword will be seen for the first 3 organic results. If you do not need adwords, you will hve the best results. So, if you build your landing page as if you want to be #1 in Google organic results, then you are on the right track.
hpgoodboy has resurrected an old thread and is the only dissenter. As everyone else says, your QS will in no way be affected by SEO efforts of any kind, PR and backlinks included. Therefore, > The best quality score for any given keyword will be seen for the first 3 organic results. is wrong. Maybe he meant the first three sponsored results. Even still, the first sponsored results are an indication of each ad's rank calculation which is the bid times the QS. It doesn't always mean that they are the highest QS-rated ads, but chances are they are some of the highest. Someone else earlier in this thread asked how to get your ads above the SERPs. You don't need to bid a certain amount. You need to, obviously, outrank your competitors. There is also I believe a threshold of bid and QS for each keyword. By the way, there can be between 0 and 3 ads that qualify to appear above the SERPs. As the poster also said, those positions are prized because they get higher click rates. He also says something about those ads being catchy. Well, that's how they got to be there in the first place.
