PayPal Closed My Account 180 Days Ago and Still Haven't Got Back to Me

Hey everyone, I'd appreciate a bit of help. Six months ago, Paypal decided to close my account. It sucked, but that's life.

Anyways, the account had ~$120 in it and in email I got from Paypal, they told me to contact them 180 days later.

And so I did, but then they replied to my email with another one saying that they cannot remove the limited access and will close the account, which means I had to contact them six months later.

I sent them another email telling them that my account was already closed and that I wanted my goddamn money, but nothing came from them.

Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks.

Send them documents they are asking for, and also try calling them and talk to them over the phone rather then mailing them.

radhika.writer, that's the problem, they aren't asking for anything. Everything they need has already been submitted!

I'll try contacting them by phone and see how things work out.

Here's wishing you all the best. I too sent them everything they wanted, even contacted them over the phone, to receive the same reply... "we do not want to create any risk to your business" or something like that.

As I have mentioned in some other thread... I committed one huge crime... that was logging into my paypal account using the services of another ISP (since my ISP was down at that time). Boom! I receive an email from them stating that someone is trying to hack into my account. This was the beginning of all my woes.

parsibagan - I don't know if we should blame PayPal for being extra cautious or the scammers that ruined it for everyone. Either way, I have to admit that PayPal are very irrational with their actions and decisions.

Guys, I really don't understand how paypal is so careful for some people. I logged in the summer to paypal when I was in Poland, a lot, and they didn't say anything at all. I would suggest though to always contact them before logging in from a different area.

scott1995 - Maybe it depends on the account, whether it's verified and how long it's been active. When you logged in from Poland, which country was your PayPal account registered to?

Was your account closed or limited ? Because as far as I know, after 180 days of the limitation, you can withdraw whatever balance is left from your account after all the dispute and refund request from your customers. If it is closed then that is the end of the story and you get nothing back.

I had a verified business account, for around 3 months or so, and I was registered in the USA.

Paypal does not restrict you from traveling and operating your paypal account while traveling. Poland is a Paypal supported country which has the ability to Send and Receive money so that is really not an issue.

However they are more restrictive if you operate your account in a non-supported country, use anonymizing proxy and the likes.

Personally when I travel, I would drop Paypal an email and tell them when and where I would be traveling to.

Initially and within 2 weeks of my opening an account, I had received payment of $8, $7, $8 & $8 for writing 4 different articles. All this amount got disputed and was returned to the sender. At the end of 6 months the only balance left in my paypal account was $1.95 (the amount refunded after my CC verification). The minimum amount withdrawable is $10. In the meantime I had emailed and faxed paypal with whatever they asked for. After the 180 days blankout, I faxed them another copy of my latest bank statement (to prove I was still with the same bank). Bang! they limit my account to another 180 days. They must be earning a huge sum of interest by keeping such money pending for 6 months.

@theoneonline: there is no question of scamming. I still have the email records of my client where he states his satisfaction and even his SMS where he has confirmed sending the money through paypal for a job well completed.

I have had an account, Business verified for almost a year. I have yet to have any trouble. I would say to call them, that would be the easiest way I would think. I hope they never try to pull some crap like that on me, I will be pissed.

But I say best of luck to you.

eddy2099 - When I log into my account, it says that it's limited, but the email I got from Paypal said that my account was closed. So I really don't know what to say.

I got a PM from a member that told me I could just add my bank account and withdraw the money, I'll try that out and let you guys know.
