Yellow Pages Script

I'm trying to create an online yellow pages for a small country. The scripts I've looked at to create this page are:

PHPMydirectory has some files that are encoded with Ioncube. Other than that it seems like the best bet right now.

I like IndexScripts - very clean and looks sharp. However, as you said, a lot of the scripts are directory scripts - I was thinking of starting out with Index Script and then adding modifications that would support features currently available in phpMyDirectory.

After comparing all the scripts, I think I will be going with http://www.phpmydirectory.com/ - They also just came out with a new release.

 

Thats good news LeoNel even if our own script didn't get released in time for you to be able to compare and maybe use it Good luck with your endevours, its all about that in my eyes.

 

Personally i think the best script for yellow pages directory is http://www.edirectory.com but a bit pricey. I use phpmydirectory for my site www.gettyinfo.com

Where do you guys get the content? Is there a database out there with yellow page listings, or do I need a scraper?

I am looking for a web 2.0 script which allows members to build full fledged pages of their own (add html). It should be seo optimised. There should be some system by which the admin can upload listing quickly on his own.
For example: A directory which has educational listing and members can add listings showing a lot about their institution other than the regular title and description.
Can u suggest something which matches somewhat with what i require?

Sorry to say but this place is really getting useless for getting help.. its only for buying, selling or trading..

 

How about this, I am looking for a simple php script that will allow me to pull keyword and city/state results from yellow pages or even google maps could be cool. Kinda like the youtube scripts that pull videos by keyword, I would like to pull phone numbers and adress by keyword and city/state/zip.

 

http://www.phpmydirectory.com/ - Do not use this one. Tons of bugs, does not function properly and customer service is horrible. They ask you for more money weekly for upgrades and to get the program to funtion properly. A nightmare.
