Do you agree with me that without adsense 95% of the websites will vanish because it is currently the
main money incentive for the majority of webmasters.

No, I think you mean that 95% of MFA sites will vanish.

Millions of sites already existed before Adsense.

no not really, sure adsense is simple to use and also pays decent but i started making websites about 13 years ago before google existed i think.... those days i used to make real money, about $25k a month give or take $5k... started using adsense about 1 year ago, making about $2k a month with it, not bad for the amount of traffic i get for 1 site.

if adsense would mean 95% of websites would disappear then i cant wait til that happens, maybe then i can get back to making the money i used to again

Many sites will disappear. But not 95 percent.
There are many people running sites as hobby or just for glory. They will stay.

Those started purely for adsense will disappear.
Mine will disappear for sure. :D

Yes, 95% is too much. I think that more than a half doesn't have Google ads. Besides, Google has a very strict policy. Not every site is being accepted.

My site existed long before Google and Adsense and I grew annually and lived without G and Adsense.
But I may partially agree as many ( most ? ) of new sites of these past years have been made for easy money only and easy money means for most Adsense. Hence whatever content these modern guys create never might be existing without Adsense.
I gave my life for my site - adsense people never would do so as $ is all they focus on and thus they might disappear as soon as all ad revenue vanishes.

Those who have true content of value did so for other reasons of much higher value and thus they have more power to live and survive without adsense if needed.

I started adsense just a few years ago - it certainly made publishing / working / living easier.

OK, 95% of all websites is too much. I will settle for 75%, an arbitrary figures
since nobody can be sure how big is the Internet.

munnakv, you are honest. Most of my sites will disappear too.

Certain sites will vanish especially those that are made for the sole purpose of monetizing and nothing else. I don't think 95% is the number to represent the figure.

I think if there wouldn't be adsense there must be other alternatives so people will move there and ofcourse advertisers will too..So there will be another adsense after that. I think this will make no difference. The people who make from adsense would find some alternative to earn too.

If adsense pulled out someone else (Yahoo) would enhance their system and step in. I do not think anything would vanish.

There is nothing permanent in this world....So if adsense makes an exit, I am sure something better would take its place....

So....I do not think the number of websites vanishing would be high...People will always find something or the other to keep running the show....

I agree that majority of the website is useless. Without them, we will be monopolize by greedy company that want our money and not our happiness. Everything need a balance, nothing can be perfect. There is always a good thing and bad thing on everything. :p

No, it wouldnt. The google use adsense to publish the advertisement because they have advertiser to pay them. If google no more here (or no more adsense/adwords), the advertiser will look for other company such as YPN, bidvertiser and etc......It is some effect, but it would be only 20%

I was about to say that! And I feel it aint a bad thing. Web sites have existed before Adsense and will exist after Adsense. I will much prefer lesser sites with better content than what we are having now.

I would be happy to see the competition fall, I would be happy to see adsense closed eternally.
