One of my sites was fully indexed and is receiving traffic from MSN. This happened in about 1 week from launching the site. No Yahoo/Google though. I also have 2 other new sites that MSN doesn't want anything to do with. 1 of them is getting good traffic from google though. Keep in mind these are all about a 1 - 1 1/2 months old. I'm confused.
That's good. How many pages does your fully indexed site have? I see MSN has problem with indexing hugh sites.
MSN has indexed my sites really fast too, their bot seems to work much more better than the google and yahoo bots. They should have been already indexed, however one month is not much time. Link to those sites from the indexed one and give msn some more time.
so does this mean when our sites turn old and there are so many new competitive sites, we will fall on ranking? what if we changed servers and put the site on a new domain, that would make it new again
Impressive, it's taken forever for a mention of my site to get listed at MSN. guess i need to do some link exchanges heh
I got a blog that reached no1 rank for the keywords I targeted at msn, this was just a test and it was successful so im working on a new site and more blogs just search on msn forex for beginners
MSN seems a bit random about indexing new sites. It was having some serious issues about a month ago and since then MSN has been very hit and miss for me. Overall the traffic that MSN sends doesn't really make it worth targeting. Google and Yahoo both bring a lot more traffic on most keywords.
I must agree the traffic I get from MSN doesnt convert well, but then again i just tested that blog with keywords that get searched only 350 - 400 times a month
for me msn is throwing ok results... bt they are nt converting.. i have the some hold of google as well. lets hope to get something out of it...
Generally I find MSN traffic converts more than google. Obviously it depends on your niche / product. But there are definite demographic differences in users. For instance google users tend to be more 'web savvy' and thus, for instance, more likely to ignore ads.
You can get indexed in MSN within 24 hours by just searching for your url.. If it doesent come up, there is a "submit this Url to msn" option.. Do that and the spiders will be there within a day.. Allways worked fine for me..
msn seo is easy, never had any problems. This is the first step, but if you want some real traffic you'll need to rank well in google and yahoo. (unless your ranking high is a very good keywords) the old search engine riddle "what takes 1 day on msn and 1 life time on google"
My sites are all over - some on Yahoo but ignored by MSN, some on Google but nothing from Yahoo, and so on. Even sites on similar subjects get very different amounts of attention. I have learned a lot about how Google "thinks" by watching adwords and trying to understand how the ads on a page were chosen for that page's content. There seems to be a very large random factor --- another way of saying that the Google alog does not "understand" what is on a page very well at all.
MSN index and rank really fast. at least for over 80% of my sites. I've noticed google is taking about a month to 2 while yahoo takes about 2 months onwards. Traffic still the best from google though.
