HI, Can anyone give me the advice about paypal card verification in india?. Some people are telling that debit cards cant be verified in india . So pls give some details about appropriate bank and what kind of bank acc i need. I welcome the details from already verified users.
Indian Paypal accounts can not be verified using Indian debit cards. You need to have internationally valid credit card issued by any indian bank. You can also go for virtual credit card such as HDFC bank's NetSafe or Kotak Mahindra's NetCard.
You can verify your Indian Paypal Account using any valid Credit Card. If you can't apply for credit card yourself then apply for addon credit card if your parents, brother, sister having one. It is not advisable to use VCC for paypal account verification. DON.
Many of the Debit Cards issued in India are for India or regional usage only and cannot be used like a Credit Card internationally. Paypal is not based in India and as such would require you to have an international credit card in order to use and verify your account with. This is pretty a restriction by the Indian regulation and beyond Paypal's control.
Your reply really made me think....How silly certain rules and regulations appear... One can easily make a purchase from anywhere in the world....from a borrowed fund....but one can not do so..with his own funds!! Regards, RightMan
Well, I guess you know that the Credit Card was made for spending and initially was a payment platform which allows you to spend overseas. Over time they became the most widely acceptable platform worldwide. Mastercard and VISA do have Debit Card alternatives which would work the same way and as you say, use your own funds to make payment. And that pretty much works for most debit cards from most countries. However there are some countries which have peculiar banking regulation which restrict such usage, one of which would be India. I have no problem using my Singapore Debit Card on Paypal and to spend internationally.
Use the credit card. If no mistaken, if your country debit card has VISA/Master logo, then it can be used for verification
That's true, even I tried doing the same with debit card having visa logo on it but it failed even though paypal website mentions that you can use the debit card to link your account but it doesn't seems to work, I guess at least in India . Well ! now I'm left with few other options like using hdfc netsafe card or buying vcc to get my paypal a/c verified. I simply don't understand what these paypal guys are doing, instead of finding out a way they are compelling many of of to use their system by fradulent methods which bypasses their security check thus defeating the whole purpose of so called account verification. I think they intentionally try to keep these things messed up because ultimate they directly benefit from it by limiting the withdrawal amount or wrost cancelling your account all together(so all your hard earned money goes down the drain). I understand the desperation of people to align themselves to this system as it is widely recognized and accepted payment method world wide. Me seriously thinking of not opting their payment system but rather exercising some other options like paysimple alertpay etc. Guys do reply on what you think about the whole issue.
